A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. phosphate, color case harden screws.
24mm rings made by Lyman for the M84 can be rough blue or phosphate finished.
i have yet to see genuine 7/8,s Redfield one peice rings for the 1903A4.
as they used the Lyman 24MM rings.

With only a handful of exceptions, 1903A4 rifles sold by the government were sold without rings or scopes. We know that early in WWII commercial 330C scopes were used, so if you have an early rifle with this scope, I would think it would be "correct" with 3/4" blued commercial rings.

With the 3/4" rings, the ring with the single screw should have a flat top in profile if from the WWII era. Some time after WWII, this ring was changed to a round profile (like a paper clip).
