    type 3 barrel band id

    new to collecting I bought a type 3 barrel band on ebay it has a circle with an A inside the circle. I was told it is an Inland barrel band. Can any one help me with the ID of all Inland ID letters.

    There were thousands of companies making parts for carbine production. Not all have yet been identified but as a rule of thumb if a part has the letter I on it with another letter it most often was made for Inland. An example would be a type 3 barrel band. If made for Inland it would be marked AI,KI or SI. hth

    Atlas was a mistake I made about 10 years ago. I mixed it up with another contractor. The mistake was printed in the Carbine Club News Letter.

    The actual contractor was Apex Metal Stampings, of Brooklyn, NY.

    I am to blame for the misinformation. I appologize for the mistake.
