    IHC Front Sight width

Two of my late IHCs,5173xxx and 5214xxx (HRA contract receiver), have front sights with "ears" measuring .868 and .865 wide. My other late IHC,a 5204xxx gap-letter,has a front sight measuring .761 which I understand to be within the range of front sight widths used on HRA rifles. All components of this rifle, except for the stock, appear to be original IHC. Any confirmation that IHC may have used smaller width front sights on some late production rifles?

Yes, indeed, IHC used many narrower width front sights (.750) in the 5M range. I have documented hundreds of examples found on original rifles. Please do not change it out, because it is probably original.
