He proved that a man with a 4" .39Spl., would hit a man size target consistently @ 200yds. When the .357Mag was intriduced he upped the yardage to 600 and did it!

I prefer to put clays on the 50 yds berm and nreak them with allmy CPL gguns, it fun.
I also enjoy the metallic silhouettes with my .2 10" contender.

I have never shot a handgun at 200 yards, but I have shot at 100, one-hand, two-hand and bench and see no reason a good shot can't hit a man-size target at two hundred. At one time, I could keep my shots in a man-size silhouette at 100, shooting a 3" Model 36, DA, one hand, so that shooting seems very good but neither unprecedented or super.

I agree. I have a Colt .45 I shot at a small steel plate at 100 yards hitting it without difficulty and the man size steel plate at 200 yards wasn't much harder and others can out shoot me. I've often seen people at the rifle range take out their pistol and hit that steel plate at 200 yards.

My NRA Fact Book says a .45 at 855 fps at sea level has a max range of 4400 feet so 600 feet isn't all that far. It's a good reminder of how far bullets can travel after they've been fired.
