Done by the Brits before the US got there. Churchill took or was given credit for it. Another thing I'd have to look up.
Were any "dummy/decoy airfields" ever built in the USA a few miles from the real airfield? Hundreds were built in England during WW2 with the purpose of drawing the Luftwaffe away from the real airfield.
Apparently, only the Lockheed Air terminal.
