Gee a Winchester mdoel 70 in .35 remington that is a $5000 gun. The is just what he had not sold yet think over 9 years what he got away with. I hope they throw him in jail for a long time. The feds should go after him as well on the stolen guns. Some of them had to be stoelen from dealers that is a federal offense.
Why do you think UPS put in a rule that handguns must go by air freight?
The drivers were stealing too many of them!
I would not have a problem with that policy if we only had to pay the ground shipping price. Since it is their policy I do not believe we should have to pay for it.
Delivers a large heavy package to a local gun shop here , it came COD for BIG bucks. The store owner was not expecting it COD , so had him redeliver it the next day. Next day , he does not show. Goes to FED-Ex , no box , no listing of it. Files report , tells police , lets all us local customers know what was stolen. Two weekends later , customer out shooting at the local range , two guys he's never seen show up , start shooting guns that look like the one's on the list. Talks to them , finds the guns are for sale at a good price , tells them he has no money , gets all the contact info from them. Walks to his truck and writes down some of the serial #s , thier truck licence number ,etc.
Goes to the gunshop , confirms it's the guns , cops called , people found and arrested and property recovered. The shooters turned out to be innocent. The thief was a marine working part time for Fed-ex and was deployed aboard a ship the day after he stole them. He did not think the gunshop owner would miss them , that they could not track his ID. , that his friends would sell them and send him the money , and that noone would look for him on a ship in the middle of the Pacific.
Boys , you just can't fix stupid. Chris
I just don't get. UPS has the best delivery tracking operation in the world. When a truck is loaded, every package is accounted for; either it is delivered (& recorded), or it is returned. If a driver were to indicate DELIVERED, but didn't really deliver an item, the company can be sure of the truck (& driver) it was last charged out to. You wouldn't think it would take that long before they started looking closely at a driver who had LOTS of claims for nondelivery.
