S&W Victory model in cross draw holsters. This is a very high quality photo for 1943.
I could be wrong, but I did not know the US Army issued the S&W Victory (38 cal) in a cross-draw hip holster ? Looks more like the Model 1917 revolver (45 acp)
Thatr would be my guess too. 1917 revolver. But STILL...Another thing I didn't know was that you fellas (the US) had senior NCOs as the colour party bearers. In Canada it's officers. This appears to be a sunset ceremony. Any of you done this exact thing???
