Reputable "Gunsmithing schools" in Texas ???
Mods: I'm new here; not sure if this is the right place for this thread. If not, I apologize.
Okay. I've been doing some research, including posting this query on another forum, and it's looking like there are no real brick and mortar schools in TX devoted to gunsmithing as a vocation, but, I thought I might show a little leg here, and see if anybody knows something I missed.
This all started because a friend of the family offered to pay my way through gunsmithing school IF:
1) I can prove to him that the place is on the level
2) It is located inside the Texas border
So far, I have found community colleges offering machinist training, which is good, but aside form apprenticing in an established shop, I think I'm S.O.L. here. I've heard of correspondence courses, and online stuff, but I just don't learn very much in those formats, (not enough to be trusted with a client's property, anyhow).
It is NOT a matter of motivation, it is a matter of learning style.
Anyway, if somebody knows something I don't, by all means, PLEASE enlighten me!
By the way, I still have PLENTY of time on this as I am still working on a Bachelor's in Business Administration for the time being.
