Thread: Reputable "Gunsmithing schools" in Texas ???

    not sure of any in Texas, search Brownells they have a list.
    my opinion, is to learn how to be a machinest, and all the computer control machines and program, lately TV has glorified being a gunsmith, even if you find a niche,,its hard to make a good living working on guns,
    it is a great hobby, but a machinest is a pretty good paycheck.

    VERY good point, but I still want to do it. Its not just repair and custom of Bubba's pig gun that I am interested in. Actually that is towards the bottom of my priorities. I also want to [eventually] smith, repair, customize, transfer, and manufacture class 3 stuff as well.
    I have accepted the fact that sooner or later, I WILL end up learning to operate CNC systems, but I also want to be one of the Last Mohicans that can checker a stock by hand, etc.
    In short, I want to do it all!!!
    Probably not smart to spread one's self so thin, but I'm still too young to care about things like that!
