Looks exactly like the stock cartouche and marking disk on a Model 1908 Brazilian Mauser. There is a picture on page 69 in Mauser Military Rifles of the World 4th edition by Robert W.D. Ball. Can' t help you with the letter A.
Here you can find a picture of a Brazilian Model 1908 Mauser bolt-action long rifle, calibre 7x57 manufactured by DWM in 1909 with what looks like the same stock cartouche and marking disk.
