Shop Time
Snowing up north today, so I had a nice day in the shop. I am repairing a broken recoil plate ledge on a WRA I-cut Highwood. Job 1 is to clean up the cracks. It's surprising how many breaks you find after a good cleaning. There is a N.F.R. Garand stock in the background being steamed, and an Inland Highwood oval cut in the drying room. "Rocky" is overseeing the progress. More pictures to follow.
Best Regards.....Frank

Hi Bob & Chris, Chris I used acetone for the clean up. "Rocky" is the best gun dog I have ever had, and I have had some good ones. His kind of loyalty is very rare.
Bob, send me a PM. about your stocks.
I'll get some follow up pics on later today.
I also have to take some pics of the Israeli stock for the other thread, but I'll do that at the same time.
Best Regards.....Frank

Hi Frank... Might you do stock patches.... I have a 1903 that I need patched where someone carved out for a Lyman receiver sight...and filed the comb with a file... I have some stock wood that matches well... but not the expertise to insert the patches...
