Well you may have figured it out that finding parts for Ross rifles can be frustrating. Especially the front bayonet bands!
I have reproduced front sight hoods that fit both 1905 and 1910 ross rifles. In addition to that, 1910 MKIII forge style bayonet bands as some members here purchased from me.
I have now found a manufacturer to produce the 1905 MKII *** style front bayonet band!

Been busy again trying to get reproduction ross parts made.
I sent in one of my 3d files for the MKII 3 Star Nose cap to get 3d metal printed. Received it yesterday and cleaned up the print lines and did a quick cold blue job on it. Image on the left is 3d printed one.
The process of 3d Metal Printing uses 60% stainless steel and 40% Bronze. So it is tough. Used a propane torch on it and didn't distort at all! Way hotter than you would get shooting a bolt action.
I have 3d drawings done on MKII 2 star (Heavy Barrel), MKII 1 Star and Mid bands. These will all be 3d printed. Cost associated with getting stamping dies are prohibitory expensive!

Roughly what are the costs to have 3D metal parts done I understand dies are way expensive due to their very nature being made.
All depends on size of the object and material selection. Quantity's ordered depending on supplier is also a consideration. Less you order the higher the price in some circumstances.
Post print smoothing is also required as you have lines running horizontal through the work. The mark II 3* took about 1 1/2 hours of filing, sanding and polishing the lines out to make it smooth.

Thanks for the reply, I am sure once the word gets around there will be I think a market for just this type of spare part manufacturing process.
The only thing that worries myself and possibly a few others is those that would pass it as an original bit I am sure there are ways to mark them as such to stop those that may wish to ca$h in and trap the unwary.

The MKIII forge style bands can easily be passed off as originals as they are bang on to the originals, actually they are better as they are square! Tell tail sign will be the cross screw as they work but not exact replicas.
The 3d process of printing also shows tell tail signs. The bayo lug (MkII 3* has a rough appearance, similar to casting. Also, it does not have the rounded feature as stamping provides on the face.
Had a conversation with one fellow, he asked me why the front is not rounded like the originals. Told him the process on such a thin section (Barrel Hole) won't allow it. I said I wanted it to differentiate from originals having a flat front. But being as close to original as possible.
I could do the front surface rounded (Below the Hole) and file the angle around the hole if need be. But .....
A while back I sold a MKIII Band to a fellow south of the razor wire. He had a clone Ross M-10 sniper. He sold it on gun broker and was listed, Band, scope mount etc as reproduction. The person who bought it, north of the wire has it on his web page and states it is a reproduction band, etc.
Reproduction wood is also available, the friend I use does not drill out the oil chamber in the butt again to differentiate from originals.
I sell my parts as "reproduction" there are and always will be scum .... err sketchy people out there that would pass it on as original.
I guess bottom line is to research and know what you are buying.
