Unit Disk Decoding? Info?

Hey All! Any ideas on how to figure out if this unit disk means anything? Its on a 1911 made LSA Enfield.

Check the other side for markings...

Took it out and the back looks like this.

Simple acceptance mark. Sometimes they've been so marked up they need reversing.

Looking at it in an Australian context (as mentioned in the other thread)...there was a 41st Infantry Battalion raised during WWI. 41st Battalion has been used in various incarnations since.

Interesting! I don't see any Australian marks that I can see. But who knows. It's all a guess at this point!

The broad arrow over 'I' is an Indian Govt acceptance marking.
