I do not believe it matters. The adjustable sights are all pretty much the same from the milled to the stamped. The principle factor on manufacturer visibility is its position on the receiver with any adjustable sight. If I understand correctly, the Type 2 is the original milled adjustable sight and the Type 3 is the stamped version. I have a Type 2 on my Inland and the manufacturer is obscured. You can find pictures of carbines with the adjustable sight where the maker is clear. Some makers shifted the name and serial number back so it would be visible with the adjustable sight. My Inland is a transitional from the Type 1 sight and examples in its range have either sight. There was no revision at that time at Inland to shift the maker so it could be seen. The maker was not a factor for the military. They only needed the serial number to be in the clear.
