Puller received the second-highest U.S. military award five times (one of only two persons so honored): five Navy Crosses and one U.S. Army Distinguished Service Cross. He was the second of two U.S. servicemen (after U.S. Navy submarine commander Roy Milton Davenport) to ever receive five Navy Crosses.

For those of us who had a think a minute about who "Lewis Puller" was, he was usually known as "Chesty Puller"
If he was down in Nicaragua he probably served under Gen. Smedley Butler, who reported making the place safe for the United Fruit Company in his memoir "War is a Racket", IIRC.
