B's have the letter "B" stamped after the serial no.
'Dunno if the C's do. --Jim
The 52C has an improved trigger mechanism. Apart from the "C" serial suffix, the most obvious difference is the two adjustment screws visible immediately ahead of the triggerguard bow (13, 14 in picture).

The easiest way, as mentioned, is to look at the serial number. The number will be followed by either the letter "B" or "C" indicating which.
Aside from that physically they may appear similar but there are differences. Both use a barrel tension device near the forearm tip but they differ. On the "B" this device is indicated by a horizontal screw from side to side. (Easy to see)
The "C" uses a device that works vertically with the adjusting screw on the bottom of the forearm (no cross screw).
The triggers are very different as mentioned. The "B" trigger is adjusted thru a hole in the tang behind the bolt (WOP).
The "C" trigger has adjustments on the bottom of the guard, (WOP & OT).
Early "B" receivers may have a large dovetail on top behind the loading port. This was for sight mounting. Later "B" and all "C" receivers do not have the dovetail.
