Freurt
I saw a bayonet over the weekend that has FREURT stamped on the blade with a crown above it. Overall lenght was 13" and the blood grove runs right to the point so I am guessing it has been reground. The scabbard has a metal top and tip with leather in between similiar in design to a 1907 scabbard. I know it is German but when did Freurt make bayonets?
Any help would be great.
Thanks
khornet.

Are you sure it wasn't ERFURT?

Claven;
Your spelling maybe correct as the stamping was not very deep . So, who or where was Erfurt

Erfurt was a German Imperial arsenal, most of their stuff dates from the Franco-Prussina War up until the end of WW1. Likely you have a WW1 era Gew98 bayonet.

But I have a Freurt bayonet as well. It has the symbol of a crown above the name.

Can you please post a photo? Most bayonets with a crown with something like XXXURT on them are ERFURT.
