Like Jim says the blankets are stamped with 'DND', not embroidered.

Neither of the two I have are stamped DND.
The tag on one says Hartley Woolen Mills 1951 mothproof, the other says Popular Rugs Ltd Huntington Quebec 52 mothproof
Have to admit, never expected these to pop up on here. These days I use them if truck camping in cool weather. Helps keep the tent floor warm for the kids.
I recall seeing some marked TACC, etc depending where we were (Trenton, Borden, ipperwash, etc) but I believe the dimensions and, certainly, the black stripe, were identical to the DND blankets. I'd guess that all of those markings were added after manufacture. No argument on the differing financial lines.
First big yard sale day of the year and ended up filling up the car, a lot of it military but nothing super exciting. A guy I bought two large storage crates off of last year was out again and had another one, this one a little smaller. These are the type that you can load half, put a middle "lid" on it, fill the other half and flip over the half with the lid. I think they are medical cases if I remember correctly. Same guy had two medium sized ammo cans and a bin with a mix of modern Molli stuff in it. All this for $10. Another yard sale had an American Fork and Hoe Jeep shovel i picked up for $5.00. I think this is my 5th shovel but the first American Fork and Hoe. Flea market had an early brass oiler that I need to get a time frame on. I have several similar that are in steel or aluminum that came with the Mosin Nagants I bought. This is my first brass one. Some say pre-soviet, some say WWII. I need to dig my book out. Final item is a 1pdr shell with a screw on nose, first of these I've found. Nicely marked on the bottom. Spent the rest of the day at an amusement park with my daughter and grandson so I'm exhausted. Will get some photos up later this weekend.
Heading out this morning to a flea market I haven't been to in three years. Not sure what to expect. Weather doesn't look promising but this one has only been open for two weeks this season.
Good Hunting!!

I'm going to have to go to this one more often. I found a lot of military items but not a lot I wanted to buy. Prices were very good, and I had a hard time passing some items up but I already had them and it's time to stop buying multiples of the same things. Most items were uniforms from WWI and WWII, but I did pick up a few things. The biggest item in size and price was a Swiss 1971 rucksack. I got him down to $50 which is less than half what they are going for online right now, plus no shipping or sales tax. Normally this would be out of my area of interest, but I have so much Swiss stuff already from this era it made sense.

A nice $1 item is a US Army Medical creamer, actually the second I have but a different size, this one is about twice the size. It's the third piece in this ceramic set that I now have.

This third item I'm not sure about. It looks military, U.S. specifically but no marks. Seller said it came in a box with other WWII things. For $3.00, figured I'd take a chance on it. Pretty similar to S&W or Colt holsters but haven't found an identical match. They said the fellow also was a State Game Warden from another state so it's possible it was from that.

And here's the stuff from yesterday. My books were not helpful in identifying the oiler. It's Russian, pretty sure about that but what era remains unknown.

The medical container. This is my third. I discovered it's perfect for storing uniform jackets and shirts. Perfect size.

The shovel is Union Fork and Hoe, not American Fork and Hoe. And I have been able to confirm that this shovel's markings are correct for a WWII era shovel

And finally, the 1pdr shell, first one with a screw on tip that I have.

In addition to these I got the small bin of modern Molli gear, mostly grenade pouches of two different types and several different camo patterns of each. Two leg holster extenders and a couple of pouches I have no idea what they are for. Look like you could put two small maglite flashlights in them.
Also got half a dozen books, mostly Civll War but one nice one on the Berlin airlift. And a 60's era Midgetoy USAF jet.
I still have tomorrow's antique flea market if it isn't raining. Not looking good.
Your Berlin Airlift Book takes me back. I've meet 3 folks that were around the Berlin Airlift. One that was a pilot that threw out candy. 2nd was a radar operator. The 3rd told of how he ran, grabbed a parachute with candy and kept on running so he could eat it. All were good folks.
Thanks for taking me back in thoughts.

The holster looks like a military flap that's been altered with snips, the flap has been cut back. No marking? I've seen those too.
As they point out...
" This is the standard Navy issued belt holster for these revolvers. The holster is unmarked and none of them were ever marked."
