I can help with the firing pin and sleeve, but I don't have a SC bolt body.
Very Nice
Nice looking rifle.
Found a complete bolt assembly with no top markings and an 8 on the bottom side. I think it would be correct?
What do you guys make of this bolt? It's unmarked on top, has an 8 on the underside, so my uneducated guess is it's a SC body, with a Rem sleeve and an unknown firing pin rod? I don't recognize the knurling on the cocking piece portion of the rod. School me up, please! Thanks!
The bolt is an early Smith-Corona bolt. But the bolt has been refinished (parkerized). The original finish was blue. The bolt sleeve and safety lock are from a Springfield M1903 rifle. The cocking piece is from a WWII spare parts contractor.
I highly recommend that you keep looking. And stay safe!
