Wouldn't that be neat! That would bear more and closer pics. The broad arrow is unmistakable. The bend mark is present and the other marks(PFD) are UK I think. It's not in the book I have. (Lee Enfield Story) I just checked Skennerton's book on the US Enfield. The bayonet is in fact the trials blade for the 276 cal pattern 1913. There were only a little over 1000 of these made. So, good catch Mick, it's rarer than rocking horse poo. Wonder what the value is???

It IS a Pattern of 1913 Trials bayonet. VERY rare. Have never seen one, only read about them. About 1200 were made, and most had the hooks cut off for use with the P-14 rifle. The grips for the P-13 bayonet did not have the 2 cross grooves like the P-14 bayonets did.
Well, since I am not very knowledgeable about bayonets, I dont know what the 2 cross grooves refers to, where were the grooves. Just trying to make sure I am noit misrepresenting this bayonet.

OK, I finally managed to get a couple of decent pictures of the markings on the bayonet

The two grooves were cut across the wooden grips of the handles to distinguish it from the 1907 Pattern Sword Bayonet.Quote:
