I take that BFA and modify it for use by reenactors.
I bob the front end and drill out & tap the inside so I can screw in a plug from the back. The plug has the required hole size for the blanks being used.

Mine also came with a shell deflector that snapped over the bolt. I used it but never really knew why. My receiver still has a rub mark in the Parkerizing from it, which is another little irritant from that forlorn waste of time.
If you don't use the deflector there's a chance of empties flipping up into your face.
The deflector is to prevent gas/powder particle blow back from the Norwegian red plastik blanks. A very unpleasant/distracting experience.
I don't know if the German black plastik blanks did that or not, never shot any of them.
The deflector is also handy for shooting live, all the empties land in a small space close to your feet.
