Yep, that's the straight sided crosspiece. '67 or so is much earlier that I remember them. Perhaps it took a few years for them to come on stream into the system as I recall the information from the MAG's. I'll look it up sometime because it also changed the method of tack-welding loose crosspieces.
We're getting off the subject a bit though......... Were there any No5 bayonets with CAST crosspieces. I ask because the lostwax casting method leaves a reasonably (?) workmanlike finish straight from the cast but the stamped-out/punched method leaves rough edges that clearly shows the manufacturing process. And in the Hopkinson No5 bayonets, it was pretty dire.
