Well, Canada also made walnut cheek rests, and we were able to draw them with a part number as late as the '70s/'80s.

What markings have been seen on the Canadian cheek rests? Location?
Ron (Canada)
The cheek piece shown my TATOU with the scalloped side is most likely an Auzzie slaz one.
I have one of those as well.
Not all Canadian cheek-pieces were made of walnut.
I have several in varying degrees of completion that were found in the old HCF plant when it was dismantled and trucked to the dump in the late 70's
I was given a handful of them and they appear to be pine.
I missed the boat there as I found out about it well after the plant destruction. Had I known about it I would have been there.
My 99 year old father in law worked for HCF for a while before he went overseas in WW 2 and his uncle was one of the managers.
And this kind of nonsense still continue to this day.
I have it from two different sources that CFB Longue-Pointe (Montreal) still has full boxes of NOS No4 parts in their warehouse and are destined for destruction.
Its a good bet that if they still have some surplus other Bases must too.
Here are two original cheek rests for comparison, both unissued. British and Canadian.Attachment 123351
