Take a look at these markings I added to Painters profile image. This might show the contour that Jimb16 was looking at or maybe it was the "thumbprint" - some Winchester sights have a small L (for Lyman) on the side, too. - Bob

Yes...I see that now on the ears...I was focused on an the rear portion...it appears angular/sharp rather than rounded. Almost a point rather than rounded. Lots to learn! Thanks again.
