Parker Hale made a number of slings over the years but none were attributed to the M85, although the Lewis gun version shown above did get preference as it was easier to adjust with an "open" clip. In a nutshell so much time/effort and MONEY went into this development, that the last thing they did was attribute a specific sling to it, when nearly everybody that indented for one whether Civvy purchase or Military, requested something different, right down to trigger pressure.
Many already had their own slings and telescopes on purchase. Hope that helps.

Another shot or two of the Lewis sling and the PH sling showing the thickness and the "white stuff".
The Lewis sling is much thinner than the 37 Pattern web belt and a bit thinner than the PH sling as well.
The Lewis sling nowadays would be considered a hazardous product and have to be destroyed. The white material you see on the sling is actually asbestos to prevent getting burnt from the radiator when firing and also probably to prevent from burning up the sling or at least charring it up a bit. It is amazing how hot the rad can get. Ahh, the good old days when we used to fire them.
