Back when your carbine was made and in it's original stock and narrow barrel band the Oval PW stamp was stamped a few inches forward of where your narrow barrel band would set. That way the barrel band didn't cover it up. As production moved on and barrel bands got longer, WRA moved that PW stamp farther forward. What this tells us is if your Bayonet band is currently covering the PW stamp..... and that it's pretty likely you have the original barrel.
