When it was assembled is what would matter more, IMO, and that's not known. Unless you wanted a specific date to coincide with your birthday or other significant date, getting the date it was stamped doesn't seem very revealing or important. The month of stamping, yes.

A serial number stamped on a receiver did not make it a rifle. Normal assembly was a month to as much as three months down the road depending on conditions. Most were done with in the month after stamping of the serial number.

Thank all of you for the comments. I didn’t realize the SNA numbers had been discovered for carbines too. The actual date for the Garand is 23 Apr 45 according to Canfield’s book. It would be great if that information is available, however, if I have pushed my luck to far I understand. Regards and thanks again for the previous information.

The Winchester Carbine date of stamping stuff was published in one of the Carbine books, maybe it was Harrison's--or Canfields. But that's where some are quoting from. The page was posted on CMP years back.

Not sure about Harrison or Canfield's books, but the receiver serial # stamping info is published in WB III and CCNL 337.

I would not trust any information in Harrisons book on carbines. The vast majority has become outdated and he refused to change and update it before he passed on. I have not found any information in Bruce Canfields books on this too. Just the info that was found in the Winchester records.

I haven't observed Harrison's book myself, but was going from memory of what someone posted on CMP about 8 years or so ago when I first learned about Winchester having recorded their stampings and it being published in some Carbine book, which would've been a good while before WWIII was released. If so, that might be something he would've gotten right since it should be a straight copy over. Not that it positively was his book.
