If you ever decide to come down, we can manage to get you the bikes you want. Just give me a week as head start:lol:

Another update on the Firearm business in NJ. In the past week. Several Glocks have been coming in dripps and drabs. we had one shipment which included two Glock 19X and three Glock 17 Gen 5 pistols. The Glock 19X were sold in an hour of hitting the selves. In one case, the person paid in full over the telephone with out seeing the pistol. All of them were gone in less than a day. We had five S&W MP15 Sport II 5.56mm rifles come in and they were gone in less than two hours! We also received an additional shipment three Glock 45 MOS, three Glock 43X and two Glock 17 Gen 5 pistols. These were gone in a day and half. No S&W or Sig Sauer pistols. The purchase of ammunition has accelerated with 9mm being the most sot after. Mostly purchase by the case. We are starting to limit the cases as there is none for the normal customers. No problem with the .223/5.56mm ammunition yet. Other calibers have stepped up as well .38 Special, 12gauge OO Buck shotgun, 40 S&W and .45ACP. Had several folks dusting off Grandpop's WWII war trophy .32ACP bring back as well. Better than a BFR. Training classes have really taken off even with Covid-19 restrictions and remain full and overflowing.
.......................what "no ammo" and the Zombie Pandemic hasn't started yet either :lol:
Pennsylvania's background checks are up and down lately. It was a three hour wait the other day and a few times it has been completely shut down. They are having trouble keeping modern guns in stock. Local gun shop still has plenty of older stuff in there but basically very little in the way of "plastic" pistols, AR's, AK's, short shotguns, etc.
Victorians are getting upset due to the wear a mask policy and threatening to sue the Police if they get arrested they got upset with not being able to get into Bunnings a giant hardware chain here.
I have a simple solution for them I hope they get Covid and die to make more room for those of us that will obey the Govts legislation they are brainless stupid air thieves whom don't deserve to be upright on earth a staff member was assaulted at the store.
People are just selfish and seriously without a brain in their cavernous skull there is no cover up the virus is real and a grave threat to us all so do as the Govt has legslated Victoria and then you may come out of this as for the knuckle draggers well let them perish.
My wife and I went on a ride today a glorious sunny winters day my V4 is away getting serviced so took the Tricolore out I must say its a handful when on song even had a car on the wrong side of the road going along our favourite twisties gave them the universal salute whilst negotiating the curve at speed!!
[QUOTE=Aragorn243;480136]Pennsylvania's background checks are up and down lately./QUOTE]
They have completely stopped accepting new gun licence applications here. As it requires personal visits, which they are not willing to do. Renewals, and then variations [changes to existing one] are the only things they are doing. Plus many of the warrant-holders [sworn officer] who do still work in gun licencing - probably a small proportion these days - have been moved to ordinary police work. It took me weeks to get something out of them, and even then they got it wrong.
Quite possibly Jim!
[QUOTE=Mk VII;480148] They can't do that in the US. Several governors tried but they got shot down real fast. 2nd Amendment right cannot be put aside for any state or local proclamation.
Some new numbers for everyone that I discovered yesterday just for an idea of how "severe" this virus really is. Average age of death in the US is 79 years. Life expectancy in the US is 79 years, coincidence? So 160,000 people have died from Covid (and really, we don't know if this is an accurate number or is greatly inflated which is suspected) with an average age of 79. 460,000 children disappear every year in the US and it really isn't talked about. Now I don't know the age breakdown, how many just ran away at age 17, etc but this is three times the number of Covid deaths and you would think (it is) more significant.
Covid deaths here are now just slightly over the daily average for the seasonal flu. 331 per day seasonal flu, 451 Covid, out of 7970 from all causes per day. Still don't know if this number has actually changed or numbers from one type of death were simply transferred to Covid.
We have extended the state of emergency here, although there is no emergency.
Most cases are imported via illegal immigration, but that does not seem to bother the very democratic government we have.
They even put all decisions they took from January until now under state secret, just to show us all what democracy means when someone who calls himself democratic can grab power...
These politicians are more dangerous that it seems.
Who dares talk about the situation saying that it is under control (some of the best clinical doctors in the country) gets destroyed by the armada of lined up journalists, opinion makers and politicians.
This pandemic will keep running until our next elections, I can bet on it.
Unless the unrest in the country, mostly due to economic and immigration issues, will detonate and create a wholly new situation.
Ovidio,
My concern is winter.............I do think if we all keep our distance and wear masks in and around close confinement, we might not see traditional flu and colds take any hold this year. Just my opinion!!
Well, another week has past and the gun cases are getting emptier and emptier. We got are first S&W and Sig Sauer pistols in, two SD9, one SD40, a P365XL with manual safety and a M17. The S&W SD9s were gone within the first hour. The SIG Sauers were gone by the next day. I had a gentleman bring back a black Troy A4 Other in 5.56mm who had buyer's panic and want to return the gun. We gave him the full price return which we did not have to do. That lasted one hour in the gun rack. I had another return a OD Green Troy A4 Other in 5.56mm because safety switch did not "look" right. While I was putting a new safety switch in the gun. I had a customer purchase the gun out of hands. I am back doing gunsmithing full time again. I should have never sold my milling machine as I could use it now. I am getting customers who cannot find a defense shotgun bringing in one of their hunting shotguns to cut the barrels down to the legal limit. I must have done about 5 of them so far. The ammunition situation has worsen. The local distributor is limiting the number of cases to purchase per dealer so we are limiting our purchases to 5 box per customer. Still getting customers who seem to have been living under a rock or in a cave since the Covid-19 virus started and wonder why we can not get firearms. AR parts are starting to dry up or getting outrageously priced. Gun parts are taking four weeks or longer to get. Some manufacturers have stopped selling parts to dedicate the parts to production. I have resorted to e-bay to purchase parts. Customers do not care about cost they just want their guns fixed. NICS is still taking 4 to 5 days. It has been brutally hot and humid for the past two weeks. Today it seems we are getting a break and it is raining. Well, that's it on the NJ home front. Everyone stay safe and healthy.
Update: After I had written this post yesterday I stopped in the shop to drop off two firearms that I repaired. Christmas in July was the last day in July. The boss is as happy as a "pig in *hit". The Troy dealer showed up with 17 Troy A4 Others both in 5.56mm and 9mm. The feeding frenzy has started!! Blood is in the water!! Shut up and just take my money!! We have another 30 coming in next week and the additional 30 in the week after that. We are also getting tactical shotguns from the same source. If we can keep up this pace through to after the election in November we should be Okay. I don't think there will be much of a hunting season this year as most production of guns and ammunition is focused on the tactical stuff.
The heat will have an impact on the virus the hotter it is apparently the more it will be killed...........alledgedly :surrender:
Think positive, Gil!
Well, we had 358 new infections. All newspapers say it is the new tragedy coming.
We’re lost... up from 330 and change.
Then, you read further on and... Not a single person with symptoms.
Veneto, again considered a high risk region, has 136 new infections.
133 from illegal immigrants who just landed in Italy and were transfered over there.
But you read that only on page 52, bottom right corner.
ICUs are again at pre-covid levels. Since June, actually.
People mostly live as normal, without many thoughts. Just a tad more distance, but relatively normal life.
I’m still pretty sure that in Italy Covid will last until 2023,when the legislature will end.
The government is using it to keep elections away, no matter the cost of this operation.
But fall will come, and the earthquake in our economy will follow it. The signs are unmistakable. And it will be a real blow!
That will probably change everything...
Ovidio,
I trust in my son who is in the British Army's Royal Army Medical Corps now, being ex Parachute Regiment, and he says with his experience of fighting Ebola in Sierra Leone on behalf of other countries, who need British expetise.........AGAIN, the heat is a real killer!! He is currently in kenya doing exactly that!!
Sorry guys, but I get well ****ed off when I hear these so called experts vent their spleens, knowing that it is my son that is fighting these viruses at the sharp end, not these desk bound jockeys reading from books and spouting the knowledge thousnads of miles away, and seperated from his family for months.
So take it from me, HEAT is the killer................and a vaccine EVENTUALLY will defeat this **** virus;)!!!
Here in the US, it's getting really crazy but not because of people getting sick. It's all about this malaria drug Trump suggested might combat Covid and because he suggested it, the media and their allies refuse to even consider he might be right. Hundreds if not thousands of doctors are using this successfully but if they mention it, they get scrubbed from social media. One got fired from her job, she's a doctor and was using it. It's being used all around the world yet here they are fighting over it continuing to say it's not only worthless and untested against COVID, it's outright dangerous. It has a 56 year history of being used and side effects are extremely rare. Media reports it's deadly. What a crock.
And these same groups are pushing for a vaccine as fast as they can possibly produce it. No testing, if tested, only a couple of months for results. Nothing to fear here.
Whoever finds one, is going to be a MULTI BILLIONAIRE..........probably the Chinese!!
Well we have Victoria going ballistic and again people not wanting to comply with legislation citing "I have commited no crime" yes you have numbie by not wearing a mask as the sign says and the Govt. Then the girl who laughed her way through a check point she was not laughing when on refusing to answer the police questions they smashed her side window and dragged her out of the car.
I thought our country folk would take this on its not B/S govt hanger 51 did it crash at Rosswell independance day the virus is real and is probably morphing as it appears there has been a human to cat infection now which to me starts to raise the question when/if it will ever affect our feathered friends good luck then controlling it.
Like some here I try to do my bit but just shake my head at those who are infected on home detention being out and about when the police check them in fact the police in Vic went around to 130 homes twice of infected people and they were out both times, this is a propensity of the highest order just plain selfish dip sticks.
I wish our PM would declare marshal law and put a curfew on then the numpties who flout the law can find the sharp end of something digging in their ribs as they are sent away for a stretch but they wont because it would seem immoral for our govt to do it, other countries in the eastern bloke do not really have human rites issues like we do.
Well those that flout the advice get infected hopefully they will wheels up and leave more space for those who heed the govt, a bloke over east was infected thought it was all a govt hoax infected his family with I think either the grandfather or grand mother dying he now regrets his actions and wants people to heed the govt advice "To bad so sad bloke you got what you deserve."
Sorry to be callous but whilst the Darwin rejects refuse to believe this is a deadly threat then it is going to take years to eradicate it and the world economies to recover.
Stay safe and upright fellows, I am the happy camper have justy got my V4S Ducati back from a service new chain & front tyre with a track day coming up next Saturday its ready to roll at speed.
Take care Ron, stay safe mate.
Kind of amusing to watch the media scream about the dangers of hydroxychloroquine when it has been used for over 50 years with very few side affects while in the next segment demand every man woman and child be forced to take a new vaccine when it is developed for Covid 19. They never even discuss that vaccines for viruses are rare with only about 20 known safe ones in existence. These include smallpox, measles, chicken pox, influenza, hepatitis B, HPV, zoster (never heard of that), yellow fever, rabies, polio, rubella, mumps, rotavirus, and varicella.
Which of the gubernors was threatening to have doctors who used it de-certified? Was it that woman who wants to be Biden's running mate?
I wonder if some big pharma money could be involved there?
Right, as long as we can prevent people using cheap, readily available methods to treat it successfully, or least prevent people from finding out that you can.
So either China did find something cheap and readily available, or they're all dying like flies. If they were, I can't see why our media wouldn't be talking about it as it would greatly increase people's sense of urgency here.
I had an idiot on facebook challenge my numbers this morning and in my research came up with some new ones.
The United States mortality rate is 45th in nations with over 1000 cases. Mortality rate is 3.39. This is lower than virtually every nation in Western Europe, Canada and Mexico. And the media is still trying to make us out to be a disaster zone. Some of the major ones: UK 15.22, Belgium 14.47, France 14.3, Italy 14.21, Hungary 13.29, Netherlands 11.39, Mexico 11.5, Spain 9.96, Canada 7.63, Sweden 7.16, Ireland 6.17, Switzerland 5.56, Germany 4.36.
Here, the only nation the media seems to want to imply is worse than the United States is Israel. Their rate is way down the list at .71. You can't tell me politics isn't driving this disaster now.
The following is publicly available -
Coronavirus Update (Live): 18,283,830 Cases and 693,773 Deaths from COVID-19 Virus Pandemic - Worldometer
and puts the USA in 10th place (478 deaths per million). Germany, for example, is at 110 per million (41st). Canada at 238 per million (24th.
The Worldometer Covid-19 statistics are collated by Johns Hopkins University. I see no reason to suggest that they are following a political agenda.
BTW. Pennsylvania is at 570 per million.
I don't know where you get your figures from. Please provide a link to the source of the information you quoted.
My numbers are actual mortality rates of those with Covid 19, not deaths per million as a total of the population. The number of deaths per confirmed cases. They are updated daily. US dropped to 46th today.
COVID-19 mortality rate by country | Statista
On another note. I now know one person who has both contracted Covid 19 and died with Covid 19. I learned late last week the individual had it and she died three days later.
I have no doubts Covid 19 will be listed as cause of death.
Here's the real story. This individual was 89 years old and in failing health for some time. Three weeks ago her health deteriorated to the point relatives were advised to make their last visits and she was placed in Hospice Care. Not sure what this is called world wide but basically it is a place that more or less specializes in end of life care and making it as painless as reasonably possible. She did not have Covid 19 when she entered the facility. After being in Hospice for two weeks, they determined she had contracted Covid 19. As the incubation period is believed to be shorter than the time she was there, she contracted it at the facility which is one of the big problems we have here. The Governor and State Health Secretary infected a lot of these facilities with Covid at the early stages and apparently never figured out how to clean them up. In any case, she passed away three days after being diagnosed with Covid. This did not kill her, she was dying already. She was transferred out of the facility and moved to a nearby hospital upon being diagnosed.
Again, this is the ONLY person I personally knew who actually had Covid 19. It is only about the third individual among all my friends, family and acquaintances that are known to have Covid-19 and the first to have died from it. Now I don't have a tremendous amount of friends, family and acquaintances but enough to know this isn't as major of a problem as they are making it out to be.
The John Hopkins link I've used.........
ArcGIS Dashboards
Most of these other sites are using Johns Hopkins for their data, they are just arraigning it in different ways. Apparently the President used the mortality rate based on confirmed cases during an interview yesterday and confused the heck out of the reporters who are now saying he was wrong, lying, making it up. He got the numbers and charts straight from Johns Hopkins. He considers the number who die who actually have it more important than the number who die as a percentage of the entire population to be more important and from a scientific view, he's correct. Before this is all said and done, nearly everyone is going to have it. The surviveability from that point is more important than the surviveablity of not having it.
And here's the thing with the numbers. Based on Johns Hopkins, and testing, only 1.42% of the US population has tested positive for Covid 19. We know this is not accurate. Various studies from two months ago showed that the actual percentage then based on testing of sewage plant intakes was closer to 14-20% depending on location. We also now know as a fact that many people get it, get over it, without ever knowing they have or had it. The current head coach for the Philadelphia Eagles has it. He said he never would have guessed but since the entire team is being tested, he was tested and found to have it. He has no symptoms, feels fine, etc.
Glenn Beck's family has it, he doesn't which is weird but his entire family does. They never would have gotten tested except they were going from one state to another. And they've been pretty isolated in Idaho for the last couple of months on his ranch. So if it's reached an isolated family in Idaho, it's probably everywhere.
It is a thankless task attempting to point out to many people the divergences and outright contradictions between demonstrable facts and what they prefer to believe on any given matter. Those who persist in doing so are likely to find themselves scorned and hated; the more tenuous the popular delusion and the more stark the reality it conceals, the more violently those who question that delusion will be attacked.
You're not kidding. They did a poll here a week or so ago and found that many people believes about 30 million US citizens have died from Covid. I don't even understand how you can do that since they talk about the 160,000 ever single day, multiple times. You can't avoid it if you watch just one episode of the news.
Perhaps it's just perception based on the panic and fear the media and some politicians have created.
We are again reducing the seats in trains and, I'm ready to bet, also on planes due to nothing but political disputes.
The government extended the state of emergency to keep doing what it wants beyond and above our poor constitution, and the fact that the railways were easing up the restrictions, exactly as the airlines did, was a tad embarrassing to them.
So, close down everything and who cares if Italy now lives of tourism. Kill another bunch of restaurants, hotels, resorts... We have plenty.
No-one will ever be held accountable for this, so the most shrewd and ideologically set jackals can go the way they want.
We'll have lots of tears to cry in a couple months...
Deaths from Covid in PA are ranging from 0 to less than 10 per day now since July 25th and the governor still has us in a state of emergency. He simply doesn't want to give up the power he took upon himself. There is no reason for it anymore. We have 102 covid patients on ventilators out of a total of 941 being used and a grand total of 4430 available. There have been zero deaths under 20 years of age, and the survive-ability rate for those between 20 and 29 is 99.95% of those that get it. And they still are afraid to open the schools. It's ridiculous.
Sounds familiar...too much in fact...
The state has been gearing up for fall sports. Starting a few weeks late but still starting. The Governor opened his big mouth today and suggested they are all postponed to January 1. Weird as that's when the new government starts. Also weird because there hasn't been a single death under the age of 20 in the entire state to Covid. 100% survival rate. Evidence is showing that young kids don't even transmit it to other people when they get it and that it's just harder for them to get it. When they do, it's so mild they don't even know they are sick. We seem to be having a lot of that in adults today also. Head Coach of the Philadelphia Eagles tested positive, wasn't sick. Governor of Ohio was tested because he was meeting the President and was positive. Isn't sick Glenn Beck who I mentioned the other day as his entire family got it but he didn't may have it now. Been off the radio for two days but expected back tomorrow. He's been broadcasting from his house anyway. So he was at least sick enough he didn't want to talk on the radio. He is also very high risk with immunity issues plus he's overweight, along with a couple of other things. Be interesting to see what he says.
Finally found a mask that fits.
The situation.
Remember a few months ago? The only people wearing masks were robbing convenience stores.
My own bank had a teller ask be to remove my cap to deposit money!
Now you are taking a chance of being arrested for not wearing a mask. Or at least shamed.
Our Costco suggests wearing a mask, so I did...didn't get the reception I expected though...
I really love how people, all around the world, can make fun of this situation.
That puts me in a great mood.
We will survive more because of our capacity of laughing about it than of worrying.
Well done guys!
Ovidio,
Take no notice of Jim, that is what CLEAN FRESH AIR does to you in British Columbia, they don't need the auronasal covering
Poor Jim:lol:
That hat Jim oh! Lordy change the hat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
and............................see a bloody dentist while you are at it :ugh:
Outstanding choice.
---------- Post added at 10:51 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:47 AM ----------
I agree about the laughing. But we must also keep in mind the sinister uses to which some are using this present situation. (I would refer others to your 1894 thread here)
Turns out Glenn Beck is still the only one in his family that doesn't have Covid. He had something else. His doctor has him on the malaria cocktail as a preventative measure and it apparently is working. In other covid news. a state representative got tested for both covid and the anti-bodies. No Covid but he had the anti-bodies. Figures he had it in January before it became a "thing". I suspect my wife and I had it in January also but who knows. We get flu shots since we work for the school district and she had a bad case of the flu in January. I had a very mild version of it which tends to be how it works with us. I remember telling her she didn't have the flu but just figured they didn't get the strain right in the vaccine. A church member is now convinced she has it as she's been sick for four days now. She was traveling on vacation to the shore so who knows. 90% of people that get tested don't have it.
Wasn't it the Ohio Gov that tested Pos+ yesterday(?) before Trump got on the stump.
Media hyped it all up, then he gets tested again after Trump was long gone and results were Neg-.
Anyone read about the $1 test kit you use at home. Sorta like a Pregnancy test, but you spit in a cup and drop in some type of Litmus (sp ?) paper. Results are right away, instead of a 4-10 day wait. Problem with the 4-10 days results are catching it or passing it on after you tested.
Here I found it, Read this Guys, interested in opinions..........
Most of the coronavirus tests the U.S. does are worthless. But theres a solution that could actually work — and stop the spread.
A Good Weekend All,

I should have done it this way. Link to post.

I got the test up the nose. Wasn't the worst thing but not something i would do as a recreational activity. I got the results in 24 hour and the results were negative however my conditions was extremely suspect. To the point where i had to go into a clinic, interview with people that look like they were dressed for a zombie movie. Personally i dont put much faith in the swab tests, that is just my personal opinion. I have to wait another week before I can take the antibody test which would confirm it but my doctor still thinks i had it. Completely loosing taste and smell with zero congestion for days, chills sweats and other unpleasantness just doesn't hit randomly.
A 21 year old relative recently came down with symptoms - got an appointment and was able to get tested 2 days later. He waited at home 9 days before receiving results - negative! He missed 12 days of work because of it. With tests taking this long in Oregon, how can "contact tracing" even work? - Bob
Doesn't help that the symptoms are the same as every other respiratory disease and virus out there.
There is a 90% negativity rate for testing so you only have a one in ten chance of having it when tested. Antibody tests would probably be a lot more effective than these. A lot of people have already had it and never knew it.
Found out this morning,
Cousin's daughter is in the hospital for the 2nd time with it.
Same cousin who had it himself and lost his Mother , my last living Aunt 2 days after she went in.
I don't recall hearing about anyone getting it twice. They'll put her on assisted breathing if she doesn't improve by noon tomorrow.
She has other health issues that make her a high risk.
Sounds as though she contacted her Dr and had to wait 8 days for a office visit.
I should change the: (had to wait) to (She decided to wait) 8 days.
Straight from that office visit via ambulance to the hospital.
There's a fine example of Crisis management by both her and her Dr for you. Sounds as though she was in contact with many people over those 8 days before seeing her Dr again.
Did I mention she's currently a online Nursing student ?
No where have I claimed that she's on the 'Bright Side'.
Only a WAG as to how many she may have passed it on to.
Just seems to me if her Dr was that busy that his office would have sent her out to one of the many drive thru testing sites we have nearby.
IMO, 1/2 of the people out there are too stupid to step up and make decisions regarding their health issues. And if they can't take care of their own A$$, how responsible are they to others they come upon.
I'm hearing from that side of the family that the Dr is to blame.
I don't buy it. We have to be responsible for our actions...... I hope she hasn't passed it on to someone else.
Remember way back in the early days of HIV / AIDS ?
Seems they had no trouble tracking it and those in contact.
Probably like most, I'm sick of this Sh!t. And the ignorant MF'ers who I think, just want to catch it so they can say....... Yea I had that.
It would seem to me that either she had it then or has it now, not both Unless the first time was 3 months ago or more. Your body has an immunity for the same thing for at least a few months. They don't know with this yet but if no immunity, a vaccine isn't going to work. Another possibility is a bacterial infection. They are happening with people wearing masks and they aren't checking for it assuming it's Covid.
In any case, I wish her the best. I'm not one for going to the doctor either but under present circumstances, if I was feeling bad enough to call, I'd schedule the appointment as soon as possible.
Here in Aus Victoria is our achilles heel as there were from what the news said last night 170 odd untraceable infections meaning they cannot say how they got the infection they have introduced a curfew but its not enough as people are still going out who are not supposed to or flouting the curfew.
They arrested people at 2 o'clock in the morning going for a drink at a mates place seems we are not immune from Darwins principle of challenged intalect, another chap was given a move on notice for disputing the Covid - 19 as a hoax.
I have read and in reality its pretty sad but reports of persons in the US dying and others going blind from drinking anti-bacterial hand wash as it contained methanol not ethanol truly Trump said that whether as a gaff or what about putting disinfectant into your blood but some have gone to the extreme in fear I guess.
On a lighter note I went and had a track-day on my Ducati V4 it was my first time on a track so I left my tyres at factory pressures and yes the chicken strips are there (Although its a 200/60/17" profile) so I took it fairly steady.
Next time I'll let the tyres down still have it in race mode but have the power delivery at dynamic instead of low power (Slows throttle response) a bit.
This is the rear tyre after riding a 100 klms home there was allot more melted bits than that and it was only 15 C all day out there damned cold.............:yikes:
You be careful..............Simon Cowell's broke his back riding an electric bike, its a dangerous pastime.:nono:
Trump never suggested anyone drink disinfectant. Nancy Pelosi however said he said it, repeatedly and as recently as last week. Trump suggested using disinfectant for treatment because it's a valid treatment. Hydrogen Peroxide is a disinfectant and it has been used both in the bloodstream and in the lungs to fight similar viruses. It is also what most hospitals and doctors offices use to wipe down surfaces as it does not have a strong smell. Long used treatment and what he was referring too, not Lysol as Pelosi suggested.
Newest thing here is kids going back to school. Massive panic of course. Numbers don't support any of it of course. This virus is far less dangerous to school age individuals than the common flu. But, they are seeing 90% increases in positive tests from school age kids and a few of the athletes attending practices are testing positive. Never mind that the only reason there is a huge spike in positives is because they are testing people whether they show signs of being sick or not.
Media ran with a story of a six year old that died of Covid without really mentioning that this kid had about six comorbidities. Just how cute she was etc, etc. College sports is also being cancelled now. Football seasons soon to be scrapped nation wide by the looks of things along with every other fall sport.
Another update from the gunshop, things are getting real bad. Ammunition has become a premium. This week are only permit ONE case of 9mm for the week. The rest is being funneled to the local police deprtments for their required qualifications. We received 15 Tristar Cobra 12 gauge tactical pump shotguns. They did not last two days before they were gone. Hoping for another 15 guns tomorrow. Still no Troy A4 Others yet being made. Supposed to get 30 guns in with more in the pipeline. We will see I have been promised that before with no deliveries. Ammunition is getting tight we are only limiting to the number of boxes, no more by the case sales. I talked to a gentleman who was looking for .380ACP ammo which I have not seen in a while. I asked him how much did he have on hand at home. He told me he had 600 rounds already! I told him him if he needed to shoot that much, he needs to get a bigger gun or call in an air strike! The panic is unbelievable. Still getting a lot of people who are still living under a rock or in a cave and have no idea what is going on. I do not see these shortages going away any time soon probably even after the Presidential election. Hunting season is approaching and I am not seeing the gun and ammunition manufacturers gearing up for the season. Everything is tactical, tactical and tactical. Everyone be safe and healthy. Remember the family that slays together stays together.
"Never let a crisis go to waste." Never let a crisis go dormant if you have gas to throw on it. If you are lacking a crisis create one.
That's what happening here.
Things keep improving, most of the infected people have zero point nothing in terms of conditions and, also, are immigrants who just land in Italy and then disappear at their pleasure, but the government talks about draconian measures after August and Bravo Sierra like that...
Keep up the tension, it will help keep people quiet and scared, thus controllable at pleasure...
Update from Yesterday: No changes in sales, people still asking for the unobtainable. 9mm pistols are becoming unavailable. War trophies are starting to come in for repairs and cleaning as no new pistols are available. Late in the day my distributor finally showed up with 10 Troy A4 Others in 5.56mm and 10 12 guage Churchill tactical pump shotguns and 5 Black Aces tactical ump shotguns. The blood is in the water!! Tomorrow will be a feeding frenzy at the shop.
Must be a New Jersey thing. Only frenzy in PA seems to be with ammo. Local gun shop has two cases of pistols, maybe not the newest as I don't pay attention to that sort of thing. Another down in Lancaster is getting plenty of new things.
Unfortunately there is not too many gunshops in NJ as in some other states. Location is important!! As with any business we are the closest stop in NJ for the Philadelphia/Camden war zones with the Trenton war zone right up the road. All sorts of folks are arming themselves as the politicians have abandon the honest, hard working. tax paying folks for the criminal element. Those folks that can flee the cities are doing so and the tax base for the cities with them. A lot of folks who live in the inner cities are stuck with no where to go. If the local politicians/police are not going to protect them who will. These folks see their only option is to protect themselves.
Another update from Thursday: The blood was in the water!! It was a feeding frenzy that I have never seen before. We advertised on social media at 11:45AM (Opening at 12:00PM to 6:00PM due to the Covid-19 virus) that we had the 10 Troy A4 5.56mm Other firearms, 5 Black Aces 12 gauge pump shotguns, and 5 12 Gauge tactical Churchill pistol grip shotguns and 5 Churchills with the conventional buttstocks. With in ONE hour and fifteen minutes all of the Troys and Black Ace Pump shotguns were gone!! By the end of the day we only had one pistol grip Churchill and three of the conventional Churchills left. They will probably be all gone by the end of today. No 9mm ammo this week everything went to the police for their qualifications.
I've kept my DEFCON at three for months now, and I'm glad I did not have to raise it.
When I read these things about the good old US of A, I am appalled.
How is it possible to leave a country in the hands of mobs... to defund the police and be serious about that without being overwhelmed by spitting crowds and laughing individuals...
My fear is that, like with the political correctness Bravo Sierra, that might very soon spill over to the Old Continent, where idiots do not lack either.
And then we'll be in the same boat, with the difference that, mostly, we are all well registered for what we own. The Italian police knows exactly all I have and could come and grab everything in a matter of minutes... if allowed. But if not allowed, that would be my end. And my familys'...
Yankee friends, you make me worry more than I would like right now...
In the meantime, since tomorrow is the second more respected (maybe third) festivity in Italy, I'll go home soon and start putting octopus in sous vide, curing and marinating spare ribs, put some first class whine in the cellar, stack wood for the embers...
Tomorrow I'll have mass at 10:00, then I'll change to my "combat gear" for BBQ and start preparing lots of great things.
By the way...the octopus will be grilled delicately and land on a wonderful wood-oven bread for galactic bruschettas, with wonderful olive oil (extra virgin!!!), garlic and Hawaiian black salt (or maybe Himalayan pink salt?). The starter for a great day.
I'll take pictures, because I'm not sure I'll be able to tell you what happened next:rolleyes:
Hold on mates!
The problems are in some of the big cities, not everywhere. I have seen no disruption at all in my area and have attended a couple of gun shows since all this started and saw nothing out of the ordinary. In fact the last show I was at was very quiet. I asked Mike about it and he said they rushed in when the doors opened, bought a ton of ammunition and all left. I'll be going to another one tomorrow so I'll see if it's changed.
Portland Oregon is the worst. They have had riots, not peaceful protests, riots for going on two straight months, every day, every night. They stopped reporting on it. Seattle is probably a close second.
Rather hard to explain, the leadership in these cities are very liberal and they either outright support the protests or sympathize with them to some degree. So they appease them believing that will control them and it never works, it just makes them demand even more. So the destruction goes on, the Federal government steps in to protect their assets and they try to divert attention to them and then demand they leave, etc and that does move attention temporarily but that's all. Portland's mayor is starting to wake up and is starting to push back to the utter amazement of the rioters and they are starting to back down.
Quite a few places never left things get out of control at all, most actually. Police in no danger of being defunded at all, doing their jobs, etc. Chicago, New York are two that are seeing huge spikes in crime of all sorts and demoralized police forces because both announced budget cuts, etc. I really haven't seen much out of Philly so pretty sure things are stable there. I live an hour away so should hear about it if somethings going on. Did a news search and there are protests off and on but the last one was weeks ago and there are no efforts to defund the police there that I can see. I also was reading a couple of days ago about how Baltimore is quiet which is odd because that is one place that had out of control crime for a long spree there not long ago. I refuse to go there.
But here, no protests in weeks, not riots at all, life goes on as normal minus a lot of places being closed or having restricted hours. I have not started carrying outside the house. I have weapons ready to go all over the house but haven't cocked and loaded any yet.
In a way, it's getting kind of humorous now watching these mayors take a step back and regroup. The protestors made the mistake of saying the stuff they were stealing was reparations and they deserved it. They then had the gall to say it was all insured so the businesses didn't lose anything. So today, the mayor of Chicago had to respond that it is never OK to take someone else's property. This after months of allowing it to happen, not allowing the police to stop it and not prosecuting the few they actually did arrest. They brought this on themselves.
Here's what we are dealing with here in Michigan. Read how our Gov Vetoed a bill that would stop admitting Positive Covid-19 cases in to Nursing homes
Gretchen Whitmer is Americas most incompetent politician
Even before the pandemic it was clear that nursing homes were hellish dens of illness and filth. These institutions, the vast majority of which are run on a for-profit basis, are not a fit place for anyone. Which is why it is almost unbelievable that in some states patients with active cases of COVID-19 are still being moved from hospitals to elder care facilities.
The results have been predictable. Nursing homes, which have been the focal point of the epidemic in this country since March, are responsible for at least 40 percent of all deaths attributed to the coronavirus. Governors in vast majority of states decided some time ago that no one infected with the virus should be sent to a nursing home and that every other imaginable precaution should be taken to ensure that the disease is not introduced to places in which it is guaranteed to spread like wildfire. Among them, after a long delay, was the Democratic governor of New York, Andrew Cuomo, who has otherwise distinguished himself during the present crisis mostly for a series of obnoxious CNN appearances with his brother, Chris.
This has not been the case in my home state of Michigan. Two weeks ago, Gov. Gretchen Whitmer vetoed a piece of legislation that would have prevented patients with active COVID-19 infections from being placed in nursing homes. Instead, the legislation would have required these individuals to be treated in entirely separate, otherwise empty facilities reserved exclusively for those who have already contracted the disease.
It is impossible to mount a scientific justification for Whitmer's veto. It was an act of pure spite, a move that signaled nothing save her unlimited contempt for the Republican-controlled state legislature. Her feeble defense — that not placing virus patients in nursing homes where their chances of infecting their fellow occupants are all but guaranteed would have violated their medical rights and privacy rights — is risible on its face. Where were the supposed rights of the same individuals when they were moved from hospitals to nursing homes, ostensibly in accordance with guidelines from the CDC? Where were the rights of those who would be exposed to this lethal disease? Only three days after the first case of the virus was confirmed in Michigan, the head of the Healthcare Association of Michigan proposed treating coronavirus patients in vacant facilities in a widely shared letter. This idea, which would almost certainly have saved hundreds and perhaps even thousands of lives, was imperiously dismissed out of hand by Whitmer.
Why should anyone be surprised, though? This is the same governor who decreed that it was illegal to visit one's own private vacation home and to purchase garden gnomes in stores that were otherwise open, who decided to open the northern half of the state for the explicit purpose of visiting Traverse City, where days later a patriotic marina owner refused to allow Whitmer's husband to launch his expensive boat ahead of others who had been waiting longer. Whitmer is everything critics accuse President Trump of being: venal, narcissistic, hypocritical, obtuse, willfully ignorant, and totally indifferent to human life.
:banghead:
I didn’t take pictures...still a great day.
G’night folks...
Five state governors ordered nursing homes to take covid patients in direct contradiction to CDC recommendations. New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Michigan and California. 70% of all deaths in PA are from nursing homes.
Gun show report. Got there late morning, no crowd. Parking lot had plenty of spaces. Lots of stuff for sale inside. Most of the stuff was older. Not a lot of modern guns so they are selling. Did not see much ammo for sale either. This was a small show.
People who never thouth about 'guns' are now coming to me for "advice" on what to buy for home protection. Most are shocked when I tell them that you just can't go out an buy a fund that you have to take a California Gun Saftey test (and pay for it) and do a back ground check (and payfor it) and wait 10 days (really 13 days) before you will get you firearm. I go on to tell them while I would normally help you find the right firearm for the application, you do not have a large choice if any right now as most guns stores are sold out and that finding ammunition is another problem. Then there is the training as a firearm is not like operating a computer; you can't just point and click. While I know a few gun stores that have pleanty of 9mm Ammo, neat imposabble to buy any handgun in 9mm. You can still find someshot guns but they are set up for hunting with the longer barrels.
My wife did pick up her Sig P365 XL last Tuesday but shes still recovering from her surgery so we have not had a chance to take it out.
Ero troppo ubriaco per fare foto. Troppo buon vino
Saluti
Dormi bene amico mio ubriaco !
Aragorn243-- That's one of the weird things about this gun buying panic. No one wants a good used gun! The younger generation wants new not "old" people's guns. same with rifles. Plenty of bolt actions to including milsurplus but they want the pistol caliber carbine, an AK or an AR platform. I cannot think of a better home defense gun as an Enfield, Mauser, Araiska, M1903, M1917, Pat 14 or M1 rifle with a bayonet on it as a home defense gun. If any protester shows up, they will not cause trouble or they will get my "point" of view not to cause trouble.
Today I received the news that the NHRA event near my house has been cancelled for this year. The NHRA is a national drag racing series, the top of the line in the US. They are competing in different states. The reason for cancelling was our state Governor and his draconian restrictions. Most local businesses are ignoring him completely now including the track the event is held at but as this is a national organization, I guess they don't want to make any waves. No evidence yet that any of these large outside gatherings are spreading Covid. I had been looking forward to it but oh well, just chalk up another disappointment for this year. Depression and suicides in excess of the normal average are now killing more younger people here than the virus itself.
Discotheques, ballrooms, parties allowed until the 15th of August, then... OMG, the youngsters will spread the virus!!!
So...everything prohibited again.
Gathering after 6PM requires a mask, before that no...
You see gentlemen, when I started this thread I was scared by the idiotic, amateurish to say the least way of informing people. Now I know that it is even worse.
This is a little joke going through the younger guys social media...

The've taken to defacing curches and relgious statues here in the US. Most go unreporsed evidently by the news.
I bet that if they tried it on a mosque, that would go reported...
Only if it were not Antifa and BLM

This will backfire in November...
I had checked their website and they had several competitions prior to the shutdown also. I didn't look very closely at the dates or locations. They still have others listed as happening. I am not a huge fan, I just like going there. Watching on TV isn't the same. Plus I collect the hero cards and enjoy getting them signed which most do at these events. I had been looking forward to it as I subscribe to their web page and have been monitoring their competitions. They are still holding the smaller events and I'm sure they are exceeding the 250 people limit with those. Add to that the Governor already had to back down once and that was for a car flea market and show. He took them to court and the Judge chewed his stooges some new ones and they backed off. Event went on as planned with 5000-10,000 people. Didn't help his cause at all when the judge watched the Governor walking side by side with protestors, BLM and their like.
We now have one of our popular ice cream shops/sandwich shops just announcing they are closing due to the governor. They were even doing their best to follow the guidelines. Outside seating, reduced inside seating. Governor sent his jackboots in there over the weekend I guess.
Meanwhile, several other restaurants are business as usual. Full capacity. Been like that for about two months now. Governor hasn't touched them yet. Not sure why, probably because they have lawyers.
Now the they cancelled the State Farm Show which is in January. Saying farmers understand the need to let their crops go fallow some seasons. I think the farmers are almost in unison saying f-you to the governor and going on with their lives as usual. This is a huge event which we attend every year. The Governor has control of the Farm Show complex and has had it closed since March. This is a complex (expo center) which has an activity nearly every weekend and some of them last all week. Often there are two or three events going on at the same time. It is a huge complex. The only event still on the schedule is a motorcycle swap meet in November. Not sure why it is still there. There are four gun shows a year here an all have been cancelled and that's a violation of the 2nd Amendment. But he is anti-gun so I guess he figures if everything is closed, that can be also but why the mototcycles?
Tuesday Italy was shocked by the news of a 5 year old girl in ICU, dying from Covid.
Yesterday her doctor was interviewed by a newspaper and said that the girl was in extremely serious conditions, fighting for her life due to a rare and extremely severe disease, and that she was tested for Covid like everybody else being accepted in a hospital and found positive. But that had nothing to do with her conditions.
This is one example, but we had almost the same today with five teenagers who came back from Sardinia, after holidays. Hospitalisation in ICU for one of them, until the hospital, called by a journalist, denied any condition other than a light fever. Otherwise absolutely ok and about to be sent back home, all of them. One had fever, four nothing...
If this is the kind of information we get, then I really think that I'll become an anarchist and flip everybody else the finger sooner or later...
Take care my friends, I'm leaving for holidays tomorrow. Guzzi California for a criss-crossing of Central Italy to reach the Family. Great!!!
Another victim of the medical industrial complex. I for one will pray for her recovery regardless of what form of illness she is afflicted with and will not attempt to profit in any way from what she does or does not have.
"Guzzi California for a criss-crossing of Central Italy to reach the Family. Great!!! "
Keep the shiny side up and enjoy the ride.
Update for August 21, 2020-- Another episode in the daily soap opera, "As the Gun (World) Turns." Early Wednesday we received another 10 Troy Defense A4 Other Firearms, appears they are only making 5.56mm and in only black to speed up production along with 10 Churchill 12 Gauge Pump shotguns. The Churchills are Turkish made and quite nice and appears to be a cross between a Benelli and Remington 870 shotgun. Two additional features that I like is the chrome plated bores and removal chokes so you can put a compensator or shot spreader on the muzzle. The 10 Churchills were 5 with pistol grips and 5 with conventional stocks. The Troys were 5 with 10.5 inch barrels and 5 with 12.5 barrels. The 12.5 inch barrels appears to be the more popular at the moment. We placed the shipment on our social media page at 4:00PM (two hours) before closing. we sold 6 Troys in that time frame. At the end of the day we were down to 4 Troys, 1 with 12.5 barrel and 3 with 10.5 inch barrel. We also sold 5 of the Churchills in the same time frame. When we open yesterday, the remaining Troys were sold in the first hour. We are supposed to an additional shipment next week, that will be fun.
Ammo is getting harder to get, we have been out of 9mm "Standard" Range ammo for also two weeks now. We have been selling the 9mm Critical Duty and HST Hollow Points in its place which is considerably more expensive and available. People are starting not to care about the law, we are advising our customers that using a hollow point in self-defense is a crime in NJ. They do not care they only protecting their lives! Ran out of 12 gauge 00 Buck and 5.56mm yesterday. Only a case left of the .223 Remington. Yes, I know there is no real difference in modern rifles but you cannot tell that to the idiot gun "experts" as most modern 5.56mm rifles are chambered for all three, .223 Rem/5.56mm M193/5.56mm NATO. Still good on .38 Special, .40 S&W and .45ACP at the moment. Still getting folks looking for the impossible, I had one idiot attempt to bribe me for a Troy A4 Other in FDE. When I told him they are NOT being made he acted like I have a secret cache somewhere just for him. He ask what should he do? I being a bit of smart *ss especially after the bribe attempt said, "Buy a black Troy A4 Other and spray paint it FDE like we did in the military". So ended that conversation. Been very active in the gunsmithing, the relics are being brought in to fix and repair. I had two double barrel 12 gauge shotguns come in that looks like they were dragged behind a FEDEX truck and put away wet. Rust from the front to the rear and the barrels's interiors looked like sewer pipes for "restoration". Unbelievable! so ends this week's episode in "As the Gun (World) Turns". Stay healthy and safe, Keep your powder dry and remember the family that slays together stays together.
The state high school sports controlling body today declared that fall sports are a go in defiance of the Governors recommendation. Now the question is will he abide by it or will he make it a mandate and shut it down.
I don't get it .... where's the mask?
Attachment 110744Attachment 110743
One can only hope he'll abide by their decision. I've already lost my most important season of spring track to Corona, If I lose my senior year too it will seriously hurt my chances of running in college. This whole thing has turned into a nightmare as far as my college plans go, I think I've had 3 SATs canceled on me, I can't do visits, and alot of people who graduated are putting off college for a year meaning I will have more competition. I know it's greedy to think only of how this will effect me, but this has been dragged out over far too long in my opinion. At least everyone's in the same boat, but that's not much conciliation when it's sinking.
Thanks, means alot. I'm not too stressed about it, but Corona has just become one more thing to deal with. On the positive side I have plenty of time to deal with it and everything, aside from SATs, has been going smoothly.
Looking back my first post was a tad on the dramatic side, but I guess I'm just venting my frustration from being cooped up for so long with not much to do.
Update for August 23, 2020 - "As the Gun World Turns" Late Friday afternoon we received another shipment of 10 Troy A4 Other Firearms, and 10 Churchill 12 gauge shotguns, and a series of pump action AR platforms in 5.56mm, .300 Blackout and .338 Federal, very unusual looking firearms, since they are pump action and not semi-auto they do not fall under the Assault weapons ban, additionally we also received 5 of the Black Aces Tactical 12 gauge FD12 Bullpup shotguns in Green color, two hours before closing. We logged in the firearms and held them until opening yesterday. On Saturday within the first two hours, all of Troy A4 Other and Black Aces Tactical shotguns were gone. At the end of the day, we had only two of the 10 Churchills left, and none of the pump action AR rifles sold. I guess folks want to spend more money on a semi-auto than a pump action rifle. What fun! We are supposed to another shipment tomorrow, Monday and the fun continues. Still no new ammo shipments.
