New RMC from GB.......Broken Stock !!!

I recently bought a nice looking 6 million serial number range Rock-Ola from GunBroker. The seller didn't give much info or photos but I had a good feeling about it. So I did a "Buy Now" purchase. Well.............The Carbine arrived and it is mostly Rock-Ola parts with a RMC highwood stock. Unfortunately the stock was broken while being shipped. :move eek: Now I am waiting for the seller and UPS to make it right. Where can I get another RMC stock ???

Looks like a nice clean fixable break. How did that happen during shipping? Was the action out of the stock when it was shipped? Would be interesting to see the box it came in.

I bought a Saginaw and when it arrived USPS the stock had a big crack almost like that. Fortunately it was a beat up M2 stock and I was gonna replace it anyway.

The box was not damaged that bad. Looks like a little compression damage on one end only. I think the seller did not have enough bubble wrap etc... and the Carbine slide in the box and impacted the bottom of box when it impacted the floor. :crying:

I'm sorry but I think there's more to it than that. I don't beleive that happened to that stock while in THAT box. Good luck on the replacement.

Wow. That took some serious hit. Looks to me like there may be a fold in the middle of the box. Does the barrel look straight? I bought a barrel a couple years ago and when UPS delivered it one end of the mailing tube had been run over by a vehicle tire. You could see the tread marks. Good luck.

I sent a carbine by UPS and the box showed fork lift tracks on it. The stock was cracked the same way. The box fell off and was ran over. Not the same as this case. At least it was not a collector stock.

Unless you have really low doorknobs - the box the shipper used was 18" longer than the contents and he neither trimmrf it down nor filled the voids. His negligence. That carbine got a running start, hit on the buttplate, and sheared off in the weakest spot.

UPS called to say they would call back in a couple days to come take photos. If I am lucky this may get settled before X-mas...............:ugh:

The Carbine looks fine except the broken stock. UPS has called 4 times and said someone would call in 24 hours to make an appointment to take photos. So far UPS has lied 4 times. How can I get UPS to make this right ??? The Carbine was insured !!!

Mike you are probably just out of luck with ups. the standard answer is it was not packed good enough by the shipper.

I say, if you dont get satisfaction and get a claim for amount of money, to get Frank Derrico to fix it. At least you would still have a piece of furniture for it!, and from what he did for mine, and the other work I have seen, it would be worth it.

The seller says he will buy me a replacement stock. I am just trying to help seller with his claim with UPS. Thanks
