Hi everybody,
is there anyone out there, who has a technical drawing or a blueprint of a standart P08 barrel?
Any help is appreciated!
I am a member of another forum, a weapons building forum that has them. Ill post a link below. The prints are for the entire gun, every part with the barrel being the first part listed. They are original german documents and are not in english. I cannot give you the prints because it might offend the other members, but the website is free to join. The reason it might offend people is because the idea of the site is for "builders to help builders." Once you join, You will have to go to a forum titled "The Pattern Room" to get these prints. The catch is that you have to have at least 20 posts to access the pattern room because they were having problems with people downloading tons of files and never posting to help anyone else out. Give it a shot, there is a ton of info on the site and I find it very interesting as well as informative.
Good luck,

Hi Gunner
the original blueprints are available on a CD of the "Masstafeln". I haven´t got one but they appear on e-Gun and eBay quite regularly. If you get hold of a copy, I´d be grateful for a copy myself.
If you have any difficulties, I´m sure that Werle would be able to help.

mdrim13, I went to the website as I've been known to mod a weapon or two, but my internal "Grammar Policeman"
directed me to back out after reading "And Idea's become Reality"
Gah! :p
Good idea Patrick! If i get a set, i´ll sent you a copy.
mdrim13, thanks for that! I can understand them, but i only need the drawing of the barrel and nothing else, so that it takes to long to send 20 posts if they should be not only gagagaga!
It's not on a thread. It's on the upper right of the entry portal header bar!
Attention to detail ought to be a prime requesite for custom builders. One would think such folk would have brought it to the site owner's attention. Many times.
The abilty to communicate effectively and corretly is a very important tool in addition to physical gear. Especially on a text driven help forum.
I don't expect all of the members to be super communicators, (I'm just an over-schooled son of sharecropping farmers, myself,) but the public face of the site should be able to display elementary school command of the language.
Sorry!-- Rant and OT mode off...
Hi!
I´m new in this Forum! I collect Blueprints of any Types of Weapons!
And i fond one for Free in the Internet!
Hope it helps You!!
Greetings from Germany!!!
Brilliant , Weaponengineer! A very official document. Have you got any more like that?
Patrick
Patrick,
That is the exact same one I gave gunner when this thread was first started. Actually I gave him the entire document for every last part to the gun. I believe it was around 50 pages, but I could be mistaken. It makes me wonder if me and weaponengineer got it from the same place, another forum that specializes in building weapons. Kind of funny anyhow. PM me your email address if you want the set too and I'll send it to you.

On some K Date P.08's the front sight collar is longer than standard. The measurement from the front of the barrel to the sight is noticeably longer.
Sorry that i´ve missed this thread for some time! Thanks to all who have posted. I got a brilliant information from mdrim13! Thanks again.
Connoisseurs of thread sizes will note that the barrel thread is WHITWORTH form thread and 20 tpi, although the external diameter is 18mm. This appears to have been a general Mauser trait - the threads for both large and small ring Mauser rifle actions are also Whitworth threads, regardless of the diameter. So anyone strangling a new barrel cut with a UNF thread form (60 degree included angle) into a Mauser action is making a nonsense of the whole concept of thread fitting. The difference in the included angles will mean that the male and female threads will only contact at the bottom of the UNF thread. If the barrel is tightened up to the same torque as for properly mating threads, then there will be a huge shear force and considerable distortion of the mating faces along the thin line of contact.

I recently purchased some blue prints from ebay for the Walther P38, drawings etc were good, possibly reproduced a few times but all the info was there.
Not wanting to produce one in 9mm, but was looking at trying to produce a drawing of it in .22 with a 12" barrel and brace as to comply with our laws.
The weapons guild, I frequent now and again, it does have a lot of info, but there some projects I see that make me cringe, and as for safety.......
Those are nice drawings in the PDF.
Engineering drawings are high art as far as I am concerned so I appreciate them for what they are - drawings.
I´ve often wondered about the DWM & Mauser threads. The only other screw threads on a P08 (Luger) are the two screws holding the grips in place and they´re not DIN either. Loewe (who owned DWM/Mauser) was the initial founder of the German DIN norm during WWI. But Mauser seems always to have stuck to his own thread sizes (`tis the same on my M71 carbine).
For anyone looking for a barrel for P08, Lothar Walther do a selection of in the white barrels (without chamber) with a 19mm thread length, size,s from standard to artillery.
