Later picture, high hump gas cylinder lock, no lock bar sight...and his rear sight is cranked all the way up. Must be taking aim at a warmer location.
Everything about that picture says "movie still photo". He, his uniform and kit is just too neat to be anywhere real life.
Given the picture quality - my guess would be an reenactor

Given the sight position Hollywood is also a possibility but the image does not ring any bells as to the movie
I thought that soldier looked a lot like Henry Fonda, here is a scene right before the above picture but in B/W. Movie is Battle Of The Bulge (65).
Once I again I am reminded of the line from the John Frost played by Anthony Hopkins in A Bridge Too Far:
Something just occurred to me.Bob
What's that, sir?
We're wearing the wrong camouflage.
It's all very well for the country,
but we won't fool anyone in the towns.
I remember the scene with Henry Fonda shooting the no sight rifle...
Battle of the Bulge 1965
Technical Specs
Runtime: 167 min
Sound Mix: 70 mm 6-Track (Westrex Recording System)
Color: Color (Technicolor)
Aspect Ratio: 2.20 : 1
Looks like Kirk Douglas
Would have been a good shot BAR with no back peep to reference as depicted in the frame still in #4
Would have had lots of windage.
I was thinking Richard Widmark, or Van Johnson?
