There was a couple of things I saw not so much in the extraction pattern except at times the first out went forward, I did detect what appeared to be sorta a slam fire like a double tap hard to tell, in the last lot the last live round pops out you can see the projie! I am far from a semi auto expert if at all others may see the correct issues
For some reason the last (2) rounds in the magazine popped up together. When the bolt went forward, it chambered the upper round and it fired - then as the bolt went back, the unfired round popped out as the bolt stopped against the mag's "hold open follower." Why did it happen? Maybe a problem with the mag lips or spring? - Bob
Looks to me like the mag lips need a little tweaking. That can happen firing semi too if the lip doesn't catch the last round properly. Has to do with a slight bend up in the lip and a slightly weak spring. I used to have a registered M2 carbine. Had a couple mags that did that until I replaced the springs and bent the right lip down a tiny bit.
Thanks for the photo still Bob - that ejection had me really puzzled.
I guess you meant 'auto-loading' because the M2 is select-fire. Otherwise one would have to think you are confused by the terms semi-auto and auto.Quote:

Charlie, what is a 30rd Mag Catch? How does it differ from standard? Photo would be helpful.
