Fulton’s & son might be able to help.
Fultons of Bisley - G E Fulton Son
I thought I ordered one from EFD in England years ago but I don't see any available on their current website. Might be worth a call or email to them.

You mean something like this - not often found in new , unissued condition. Found two at the War & Peace Revival show. I let my pal have one.
Geoffrey's son David was in contact with me at the time of & shortly after his father's passing, & he was intending to continue with the business. However, I've not heard from him recently, so I'm not sure quite what has happened......he may have decided to finish after all.
I think this is David's website that he trades under now.......?
https://www.enfieldguns.com/
Hi GeeRam,
I think that the 'Enfield Guns' site is in fact that of Paul Panagi, who was Geoffrey's partner at EFD after Jim Franklin & he parted waves. I think Paul has carried on in a similar vein but under the Enfield Guns name. Geoffrey's son did have the intention of carrying on his father's business (EFD) as well, but as mentioned above I'm not sure what has come to pass..........the last time I emailed David I got no response.
That makes more sense then.
I was at an arms fair a few years back and he had a stand and I was just ideally looking at some of the stuff while he was talking to a customer and there was mention of EFD and carrying on after the death.....so I assumed that he was the son, rather than a partner.
In which case, I suspect that the son didn't carry on.
last July we had contact with David on the Enfield Rifle forum. He gave us an e-mail address for enquiries about parts and rifles:

I think it was the late Colin Moon (C Moon & Co) who did the wood for EFD. Here's a thread from a couple of years ago on the same subject of building an L42 clone and searches for wood.
https://www.milsurps.com/showthread.php?t=64532
Yes, Geoffrey certainly knew Colin & he (Colin) made a lot of (most?) of EFD's wood for them. He also did a nice line in re-profiling No4 butts for the SMLE as well, including the slight reshaping for the SMLE butt plate & the bigger notch for the SMLE safety.
Fultons of Bisley have loads of them, all made by Colin Moon! One of the original contractors appointed by Enfield!
I'm not sure that Paul was ever a "partner" in the EFD business, in fact I believe he parted company with them some time before the demise of Geoffrey, you are quite correct that he now trades as "Enfield Guns" and as far as I know he has no connection with the old EFD business.
I may well be wrong Paul, only Geoffrey introduced Paul to me as 'his new partner'.......some years ago at a Bisley show. I don't know how long Geoffrey & Paul were 'together'......
Message sent to Fultons, we shall see!!
Send this place a message asking them to make a L42A1 stock set.

They said they would consider it if there was enough interest.
I got an L42 clone made up by fultons, they appeared to have plenty of everything required. I was extremely happy with the result!
They made probably thousands of target rifles out of No4s with the same barrels as the L42, so there'd be nothing difficult about that job for them.
The opening out of the barrel channels on such target rifles could be rather rough from my limited observation as it was done by hand, but anyone who wants better just needs to set the forend up in a milling machine or duplicator etc. and rout out the channel with a round nose cutter.
I used to get them routed out using a 1" round nosed cutter. The problem often encountered is that there is barely enough width in the forend to take the opening out without the edges becoming too thin & splitting. Brand new forends are the best starting point as they have the most meat on them.
I recognize that scope bracket;)
No, I can't lay claim to those. However, the examples being sold by a well known Wiltshire based dealer who specializes in service rifles were commissioned by a good friend of mine.
I am pretty sure they are the same batch as the ones on sale by fulton
Actually, by pure chance both my pal (with the help of another regular forummer) & Fultons, were each working on a batch at the same time. I'm not absolutely sure but I think Fultons batch included some for 26mm tube diameter scopes & some for 1" tube scopes. My pal's are all 26mm. No doubt if I have it wrong someone with a keener interest will put us right.....
They had. No.4Mk2 barrel less action with no furniture, but with scope pads installed (military style with receiver wall milled flat), an un issued snake skin pattern early L42 barrel in un issued state stepped to accept the foresight block, an un issued long butt, all other wood And fittings, a bracket from Roy and my No32Mk3.
Yes it has a Mk2 hung trigger, no they didn’t have the 400m referenced rear iron sight, the optic is a No32 with a 303 drum, and obviously they never offered to and I expressly requested it not to be marked as a L42 but other wise it is as close as I can get for the moment to a mint L42. A guy I shoot with was issued one A few years back and he has shot this, he seemed to feel it was a pretty accurate reproduction. His only complaint seemed to be the long butt; I’m 6”6’ he isn’t.
I have no complains accuracy wise, in other people’s hands it is a just sub MOA rifle, it mine it is a lot of fun.

My impression was barrels they could lay their hands on And could offer a few options but wood was very much available any option wanted could be supplied. I asked for it to be as authentic they could make it without tarring up a historic rifle, their interpolation was, although they could make all wood match, due to different timing of the upgrades in the originals generally they didn’t match woods or colours so mine doesn’t but had I asked for all matching that would have been equally easy.
Not as much as you I bet!!!
Beautiful!!
I’m debating between a mk1 or mk2 action.
I do like the authenticity of the mk1 but I also want it to perform to its absolute peak ability so I’d like to use a mk2.
With help of a very knowledgeable and helpful Ron I’m leaning towards authentic.
What do you guys think? Much difference accuracy wise or stay true to the history?
If you have the choice, and neither would be ripping up a functioning rifle I would go with the Mk1. My L42 build has a lovely trigger pull, but (thanks to a bit of work) so does my Mk1*.
Obtaining an accurate barrel would be I would imagine the hardest part.
Tough one.
I've got a very original and nice No.4T, so for me, the reason I would like a clone L42 would be to make it a very good and accurate target rifle, that looks like a L42, so for that reason I'd probably go for Mk.2.
The trouble is also want a similar accurate clone build of a K98k low turret sniper as well :o
Very helpful thanks!
Given I’ll be bedding it with modern bedding materials I should stop worrying the trigger pull would change over time!

Ha this exactly is my issue!
I’ve alson done a few turret clones now and they are all very accurate! The 7.62 Israeli I did shot under an inch at 100y with all ammo.
Accumounts makes some of the best repro turrets right now.
The big challenge is installing them level and collimating.
Jon
If historic internal isn’t and issue and you are going for a glass bedding, then you might as well go Mk2 as well and get the benefit of an independently hung trigger
An inch at 100y for a sniper rifle is not very good. My L42 stacks them in one hole at 100y as does the 4t
All of my guns put the bullets through one hole, even the pistols, at the muzzle.
Not hard to find in the UK; getting them into N.A. a bit more work.
