    The Carbine Club

Fairly often, people ask for specifics about The Carbine Club. The link below will take you to the Carbine Club's web site that explains all about the club and should answer most questions.

The Carbine Club - A CMP Affiliated Organization

(Printable Membership Applications and Data Sheets may be downloaded from the Carbine Club web site in .pdf format)

It's written in the description, but anyone considering joining should keep in mind the club's primary purpose is for the sharing of information. Members are expected to participate by filling out data sheets, or submitting spotter reports. (Not difficult, and you don't even need to own a carbine to contribute info)

    Bill,
Hang in there you will be getting something back soon. Give a real long consideration to purchasing a COMPLETE collection of the newsletters. This is probably the best source of info you can find on a single weapon.

    Hi Bill,

You might try to send Roger Fish an email and ask him about the status of your membership. Roger receives the annual membership dues. The last email I received from him was in January and his email address was janrogerfish(AT)Comcast.net at that time.

I don’t know if it’s current because I’ve emailed him three times over a period of almost three months but he hasn’t responded at all.

I know it's hard to wait and wonder, but the CC is all volunteers and sometimes life gets in the way of the fun. Be patient if you can - it will be worth it.

Note that you will get the entire year's issues - so far that's January, March, and May.

I have an early IBM M1 Carbine "Bavaria Border Police" with "AO" receiver. Anyone interested in pics?

    My Experience w/The Carbine Club

I joined 8 or 9 years ago shortly after buying my one & only M1 carbine, and greatly enjoyed the info in the newsletters. After submitting an info sheet on my M1 carbine, I thought I was done, but the Carbine Club had a different view. Along w/their renewal forms, I got a letter stating that they expected me to periodically report on carbines that I saw, in detail. I replied, in writin, that I only had the one, & that I didn't normally associate w/other owners, or frequent places where I might be expected to run across carbines. After this, they took a rather stern tone w/me & informed me that they were a research group, basically, & that if I didn't want to participate, I should not renew my membership. I followed their advice & haven't regretted it since. Your mileage may vary, of course, but this was my experience.
