    1943 dated Russian M-44

Trying to found out a ballpark price on a 1943 dated M-44 carbine.
1943 was the first year of production and only 50,000 were made.
It's in excellent condition with a perfect bore and stock.
Has all matching numbers that are not "forced" matched.
    Thanks for any info.

Go to Gunbroker and you'll find out in about 3 days. There's one listed on there right now. Sitting at $305 at present.

I've seen m44's go from 400-550 recently. Legacy
Collectables website archive has one sold for 550 in 2022. Mosins tend to be refurbished before import so it can look nicer than it is. I usually look at whether or not it's been counterbored as hint of pre refurbished condition. It doesn't seem like variations have much higher value. The Tula made M44s tend to be a little bit higher, only produced in '44.

Kind of depends on where you are selling it. Some states pull higher prices than others. Seller will often tell me that they have done their research and see the gun selling at a certain price online, at which time I remind them that they have to pay a fee to ship it to the broker, pay a fee for the FFL paperwork, and then pay a portion of the sale price as a sales commission. Once we deduct all of that, we usually come to a fair agreement. In California, your M44 is probably going to sell at around 450-550 depending upon the condition. The last one I sold went at 325 a couple of years ago and then I purchased an all-matching specimen a year later at 425. Now that the pandemic is over, it appears that prices are still elevated but dropping. Hope that helps!
