Czech Mauser Identification!
Hey all,
This is my first post on the forum, so please go easy on me. I'm a new collector and just picked up a Czech Mauser at a local shop that just bought over 100 milsurp rifles from a collector.
Obviously it is a Czech Mauser, but I would like more information on it (year, etc). The stock does not appear to be original to the rifle as the serial numbers do not match. The barrel, receiver, bolt, etc. all match. I spent 200 on the rifle plus 20 for tax/transfer. Bore is in excellent condition. The bayonet is also not original (scabbard not in photo), but has a lot of character. I'm not sure if the notches mean what I think they mean... :ugh:
Top handguard is removed because I just stripped the whole rifle and cleaned out (a lot of) cosmoline and I haven't replaced it yet.
