    Galil night sights

Does anybody know where to get the tritium night sights on a galil restored or replaced? Or where to get the tritium inserts?

When you talk about night sights and tritium, exactly WHAT sight/sights do you mean? Give us that, then maybe you'll get an answer.

Well, it's obvious you don't have a clue.

That was a bit uncalled for GRIS. As a matter of interest, I really DO have a clue. Maybe, just maybe, it's your description of what you want that was lacking. After all, it COULD have been the old Israeli SUIT type sight you needed a new nuclear lamp for. If it was, I'd have sent you one in the post, for the cost of the postage, as I have to several other forumers in the past. Would have saved you a few $$$$$'s too! As for the notion that I don't know about night vision, optical sights and, well....., just sights in general.........

    Maybe someone could tell him

It's the actual QUESTION that was the puzzle. Not the answer. Like you asking the forum '....what do tanks run on?' Roads, tracks, petrol.......!!!!! Or asking a Policeman the way to the station. And he answers '.....which one.... Police, Fire, Bus, Taxi, Ambulance, Train.....' Ask the right question and you'll get the right answer

    Well Gris,

It falls to me then to educate you on the approach to a minefield, " if on entry through ignorance, tread carefully and probe delicately"

A little bit of a low punch there mate in your opening gambit, and in my view uncalled for when Peter has his vast, past Military service in two continents to fall back on, when dealing with all types of weapons systems and optical surveillance systems, and is an authority on anything military, or can at least pass on his wisdom for free.

If you ask a generalised question of anyone, without specifying what it is you are after, and assistance of either a model number or exact item you request information on covering Israeli Night Vision devices whether they be monocular, binoculars or indeed lightweight weapon sights all of which Galil manufacture, it is a crystal ball that even I would have responded in the way Peter did.
One has to assume you bought them in the full knowledge from whence they came and from what model or unit they derived, and were safe to handle especially off Ebay??

So let us proceed and try again, with our bayonets drawn to probe more sensibly and diplomatically and hopefully one of us on the site may have a surprise for you!

Gil, thank you for stepping in and standing up. Words of wisdom

Fellas, please lets not turn this into a slug fest. I think what has been already stated is good enough. Lets keep this civil.

Geez and I thought I was a bit prickly glad Gris got the drift on etiq ? bloody heck web manners, Gris you may find now that depending on Peters demure you have closed a library of knowledge and experience on yourself and not only do you miss out but so does the rest of the forum which may gleen some info from Peters replies to your questions. ?????

    What a delightful brouhaha!

To peter laidler: I perceived your response as rather snippy. This may have been due to an attack of occasional irascibility on my part or to our separation by a common language. In any case, as you found my comment rude i do beg your pardon.

To bill hollinger: I appreciate the exchange of opinions with you on this and feel indebted to you for the opportunity.

To the rest of the pack: I rejoice in the knowledge i can still rouse the rabble.

    Allons!
