Follower is later
Follower is 11, I had an unmarked 4th revision, and may have mixed them up..too late now, as 4th is gone

Quite an excellent rifle.
Yes, we would expect to see a long channel (but so many guys just wanted to see that cartouche so if they could swap for a better stamp they often did, and on otherwise benchmark rifles ... no idea but, ahh, if we only could control our passions sometimes ...), and too bad about the follower. Still all in all, an absolutely excellent and rarely seen example that is quite impressive regardless of any such 'questions'.
I love seeing these sub 1 million rifles as I still add to the data I have been collecting for rear sights for years now. Very few data points from this rifle back and very few between 700k and 1 million.
Thanks again for the peek. Best all.

1941 SA Rifle
I think the safety would still have the hole (based on other known data sheets) and the lower band would be very smooth. If the stock is correct or not depends on your knowledge and the amount of data available. The small crossed cannon stamp has been seen on Lend lease rifles in the 328xxx range but things (like stocks) are easy to change, alot of collectors seem to feel that the small crossed cannon stamp first appeared around Nov/Dec 1941. Finding a short channel in this range is extremely rare plus having the small crossed cannon stamp is a combination rarely encountered in this serial number range

From what I know the stock should be a large wheel, long channel. My S/A 327580 has the large wheel, long channel features. The lower band looks Winchester to me.

Thanks RCS. I should have spotted that! I DO know the difference I just didn't look enough to see the rounded edge on the outer downside.

Thankyou guys, I appreciate Bodyman's comments, and RCS, if the small wheel, and short channel are rarely encountered, have these features been encountered before, and the rifle was issued, so mixed parts could have been done in reassembly by GI's..
If I could get another earlier follower, would it make a huge difference in value, or leave it as it is?
Thanks, Andy
