Bubba did his best to pry out the slide stop, and when that didn't work he tried to beat it out from the other side. Otherwise, appears original.

Hard to say how it made it to Canada. Could have come back there after the war. Could have come in with someone across the border undeclared. Could have been imported. Anyone's guess...

1911's in Canada
Back about 9-10 years ago I bought a US&S 1911A1 from a dealer who'd imported several dozen 1911 & A1's from a shipment from Asia that was diverted from New York as I recall due to U.S. import rules. All were sorted by maker, some correct and some mixed parts as appeared they'd gone through a U.S. refurb. Believed left in Vietnam when U.S. pulled out.
