unmarked WWII 1911 mags?
I see from time to time 1911 mags advertised as WWII but unmarked. Is that a fact and if so, how can one identify? Thanks, Bob

Colt did not mark the magazines they made. Colt magazines will also be pin base.

Early post-war mags were also unmarked sometimes. They look just like WWII mags except they will have a dark or black matte finish originally and they usually will display prominent spot-welds at the base. Some are better turned-out than others and the welds are hard to spot. WWII mags were blued over a grainy sanded finish, so a really nice one will be a little glossy.
