The butt plate in post #11 is late Inland. You can tell by the gaps at 11 and 2 o'clock.
Jim Mock's butt plate list is the first time I have seen the three Winchester early, mid and late butt...
I put a Herlo slow twist, chrome lined on a junk receiver to see what it would do. At 25 steps, shooting off hand, it shot accurately meaning it would hit a four inch target. Good enough to stop...
The one spare part I think everybody needs is a hammer spring plunger. Most of the time I shoot it across the barn not to be found except with a large magnet. Then a extractor plunger as everybody...
"Do the small part like plungers actually take such a beatin' during range use Charlie? I wouldn't think..."
To answer this question for Charlie, most don't and should last forever. The exception...

There are type 4 slides that have the long dwell modification. Not every manufacturer but some did.

Thank-You, Charlie, that is the funniest thing I have read in years.
Charlie,
You have seen both of them before. Just one at the time. They are on these.

Guys, I have had several carbines with long or short headspace. They have to be checked before firing with gauges. Arms length does not cut it. I can't believe grown men would say such a thing.
To be honest, I was getting a little bored of my .30 carbine. I was looking to "up grade" to a new AR piston gun. I was looking at the Sig 516 or 716. I read on the Sig forum, one guy with a 716...
It just depends on the price of corn. Just because it was put into a grease bag and shipped in a home made box. Does not mean it was NIW. It could have been shot or otherwise monkeyed with before...
From Post 148 pictures, tell me the pressure was different. Notice the Fedural primer was flatter than the Armscor. Can't see the Aguila very good to tell.
I would remove the gas piston nut and file grooves in it for staking like the GI staking.
Based on the following, it does look like Inland Mfg. has solved their problems. I would buy one if I did not have a bunch of the old WWII, wore out junk ones.
Thanks for the up date.

The question I have: Is what parts on the new Inland carbine will be interchangeable with a US GI M1 carbine? Any? Some? All?
Oldie but a goody.

Buy it. now, The rear sight is original and in it's original position. I would think you could double your money.
Do you you have reason to think they are not?
Hey, Chris,
You had to post a picture of a beater. Looks like one out of a "Box". I think I have a three or four, maybe five, with an EW flip safety. I don't have all that many 7.2s, if you...
"All my 7m Winchesters " Well it sounds like you have a few. Do you have one with an EW flip safety? I saw one sell on GB last year with a fake EW flip safety. Just checking.
Of course the butt...
Rear Sight could be correct.
The front sight is correct
You doubled your money.
Don't sell it for less than $2K.
Many early hand guards were stamped with individual letters. I think the bomb and I were stamped and the O was stamp sideways, then re-stamped correctly. Or some one tried to fake the IO stamp. ...
