Back in the day when I would research old highway plans, they were green..100 yrs ago. Very likely authentic. Blue prints came later on.

Doubtless, many saw these when posted. appear to be pretty much authentic.
Thanks!, Mystery resolved.

All have a serif capital letter in the mid channel area of the stocks rifle bed, approximately located at the lower band's,...
This late receiver rifle, came as a bubba sporter, hunting rifle, in a cut down 03A3 stock, with a short, Williams receiver sight..no sight base or sight leaf. 1950's stuff likely.
It was cheap....

WOW!!
Thank you very very much for the research!
Rifle is in VGC yet, even though it must have been shot a bit. BBL is shinny and ME 1.5 or slightly under
I did notice that RIA 236106 is for...
I was catching up a bit and read this older thread.
Slam fires can come from the aformentioned high primers and worn receivers, but many reloaders do not have a RCBS precision mike for their 30-06...
I notice the "quiet" regarding replies.
Old advice was to soak the stock to be restored, in tide powder detergent, in the bathub for as long as it takes to lift dents, scratches and old oils.

Many 458's are built on '98 style Mauser actions.
Ruger, Remington and CZ built many 458's, too.
The '03 action is comparable in weight to the Mausers. Getting a bbl that is heavy enough, and a...
I recently purchased a VGC, 1st production era, RIA # 236077. A higher number that is found in the RIA listings in the '03 books by Canfield, Beard and Ferris.
It has a 7-13 dated bbl and 088 on...
2 groove Garand barrels - CMP Forums
Years ago, '03 bbl fronts, were grafted onto garand stubs. Garand bbls were in short supply at that time.
I have a 1270xxx SA receiver (1930's) with a new, 4 groove, RA 6-44 03A3 bbl, ("tell" is the 03a3 front sight), but all the old 03 hardware, only the bbl and stock are not original.
The bbl must...

It might be wise to check the list of drill rifles, if it...
Picked the gun up after some negotiating, as the gun was not original
It had a complete Remington '03, (not 03A3") smooth body bolt assembly, (not a NS bolt as it should have had), and the...
I just examined an Estate Sale '03, 1,475,xxx, at a gun shop. 1932 dated bbl, no star gage mark.
It is in a straight grip "03 stock, not an 03A3, ( no cutout for the A3 hg ring) but is without...
Not a chance that a gas trap may be in that early bunch, eh???
The CMP may have a few "hot and heavy" auctions, if so.
Early parts will help restorers for sure.
.276 Pedersen - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Surprisingly the .276 Petersen fires a 7mm .284 bullet, and the case is 51 mm long, same as .308.
The .308 has greater case capacity, however.

The video said that the .276 was pretty comparable to the 6.5 Carcano and the 6.5 Jap rounds. Very pleasant to fire, due to reduced recoil.
