Sorry, meant the scope only.
My M1D has a Dane M84 on it. Bought for $300 at show last year. Guy thought it was a repro. Ive seen them on line for $600++.
Ive heard the same thing. I think alot of people are about to learn this lesson since the CMP just sold several hundred M1917 rifles. Used stocks are tough to find...repair might be the best option.
Didnt quite know where to ask this but I used to be able to go back and see my previous posts in the stats area. Now it seems that it stopped in October sometime. Is there some type of setting that...
Never heard of one blowing up. But op-rod track alignment can be an issue. Ive know of at least 2 chronic op-rod issues (jumping track) that after swapping several rods was determined to be a reweld....
Is it import marked? Also is the barrel Underwood? Looks like an Inland stock with a WRA Recoil plate. Round bolt with Type 3 band on front. Thats about all I can tell from the photos. Even a...
Great advice, I did it about 10 years ago. Small amount of ammo and a few guns. Guidance at the time was locked and unloaded in the trunk. I had reciepts and I was also on military orders. Im sure...
I have a beater Racker NPM that I shoot Wolf & other steel case stuff thru. That one I really dont care, its my plinker with a barrel that wont even gage. Now for my collector's I use only Brass...
Ive seen the FG WRA's first hand at the South Store, if iwas going to order one I would only take a chance on a Service Grade. From reports on the CMP Board, seems very few WRA parts and alot of...
Ive gone down this road a few times. Depending on the starting point, it can get very expensive and it will still shoot the same. My IBM Boltless Carbine is a total mix master, while my Underwood...
That's a good one for sure. Was channel surfing and saw a 1979 episode of Charlie's Angels, bad guy had a Carbine and a couple of Colt Detective Specials. Incredibly cheesy episode, although...
This is one where I would take a chance with mail order. Store gets picked over very quickly. The WRA Field Grades were real dogs at the South Store in August.
Unbelievable!!!
Shouldn't be too hard to find what you are looking for. Market is flooded, with prices beginning to soften.
Okinawa had a group called the "Tunnel Rats" amazing things the used to find. They used to have a rusted remains of a Garand at the USO on Kadena.
Seems to be better, but Im not impressed with the format.
I would leave it as is.
Ive only used a Criterion on a Garand. Thought they were excellent quality. Cant speak for any of the other types.
Awsome, hope this is the cure!
Thought I had it for a second but it was a false alarm. Still Down!
Nice score. I agree, a nice USGI stock is what you need. Think that falls into the Gas-Trap range and a restoration would be a serious challenge and cost some $$$. For the aftermarket stuff, I...
yep still down....
Folks that went to the GCA convention last October came home with some amazing stories. M14 kits was just one of the previous rumors to become a reality. The CMP has a very savvy business model,...
What gives? Thier crappy server and forum performance does not represent them well at all. I think its unacceptable and hope its down for a real upgrade this time.
Yes, in fact there is an outstanding article in the current GCA Journal (Garand Collectors Association). Early production HRA's used SA parts to speed up production. CMP Forum has a very long...
