I have seen used arsenal refinished repacks in grease and wrap
NOS gas cylinders will come in wrap with no stacking swivel.
hogged out just like the BM59 gas screw
CMP did , DCM did not grade rifles, ya got what ya got
Only thing that book is good for is a paperweight, to bad as it has good pictures of parts.
punch marks on firing pins and extractors alone do not make them WRA. SA sometimes punch marked these parts
IMO the firirng pin is SA. I do not know of anyway to tell the manufacture of extractors
If you are slathering the garand in grease you are lubricating wrong...................

Are the pictures viewing sideways for everyone? I posted pics on another forum and they are right side up? Not sure what is going on
I have been stewing over this rifle for several months and I finally pulled the trigger on her. I had to sell a couple other garands to pay for her but I think it was worth it. Shes a minty 1959 Type...
not unusual to see arsenal repairs such as that
Some rifles are donated from private collections etc to CMP. It is possible a fake could get in the system but not probable.
The only garand I have ever seen that didnt need the op rod assisted to close on the first rd was a rifle that had very worn parts. Assisting op rod to close on first rd is normal, rifle is operating...

1960 rebuilds are selling in the $1000range, maybe add couple hundred dollars fir IHC. On a good day $1200 or possibly$1300
the pictures don't show for me?
Sorry but your rifle is not unfired. It has been well used in fact rebuilt in Sep 1964 at Anniston Army Depot
Sorry but I cant help you with those
You are selling to a small market with those collectable rifles, also right now the market is soft especially around the holidays. I would wait a couple of months before trying to sell.
There is a...
Rick did a amazing repair on that one. I wouldn't have believed anyone could have made it as well as it turned out, perfect
I am not bashing them but surprised the GCA would let this slip by and be published. A lot of people take what the GCA says as gospel and will inaccurately repeat/believe what is written
Do yourself a favor and buy a Service Grade $750 shipped
not hear enough information. It may be a rifle that was used very little or a mixmaster garand that was used and refinished that looks new
Thats a ridiculous price to pay for a trigger!! Its hard to tell from the picture but it might be HRA
There is a refinished HRA trigger on Gunbroker
