Cinders,
The dummy rounds are using Hornady 174 grain FMJ bullets. I have the same problem with Privi Partisan 174 grain FMJ rounds.

The magazine follower is stamped F 52 so I am guessing that it is a #4 follower made in 1952 at Fazakerly. it does have the front spring on the magazine.
Rick
It is the No 4 follower I believe, the magazine is serial numbered to the rifle.

Here are some photos of the Lee Enfield jamming.

Bolt brought forward...
I have a No 4 Mk 2 that jams on the last round. It appears that when the magazine is loaded the rounds are held wider apart by the next round and they feed fine. When I reach the last round,the...
Stereoscopic rangefinder? That tank is an M103 heavy tank.

The navy got rid of the barrels to ensure the Battleships never came back to service again. Up until a few years ago the navy was required to hold on to this stuff. Several of the barrels have gone...
Corbins wants to sell a swagging die set with a 6s profile. The Mark 7 is a 8.2 s profile. If HBC had the tooling made in the USA then there is a cutter set out there to make more dies.
Rick
In Corbin terms, you want a concave open base with base round over die set, 8.2 ogive
A swagging die set for .303 would coat about $1000 from Corbins. I have checked. I wish there was a copy of the official specifications for the Mark 7 bullet available.

Mike,
Welcome aboard. I shoot my No4mk2 in my local CMP match. I use Privi Partisan ammo and have added a GI style web sling.

After reading some of Hansard's record of House of Commons debates I think I understand it. They rearmed the Irish government so it would be able to control the IRA and stop attacks along the border...
I thought the Egyptians made ammo for the CIA. The problem I see it is the principal of plauseable deniability. Using a rifle and caliber from Western power pretty much tells you who is arming them....
So Great Britian made rifles 25 years before the Soviet Union invaded Afghanistan and placed them in storage waiting to send them to the Mujahadeen. Talk about foresight.
I would think an order...
I don't know if HBC has custom dies made but Corbin dies are only sold in round numbers for the secant. If I am calculating correctly based on the drawing 2.3" radius/.311" would be a 8.36 secant....
Has anyone looked at this book? It covers making spitzer bullets in detail. While it covers the .30 manufacture I don't think the .303 would be much different.
Cartridge Manufacture: A Treatise...
I wonder if they are getting tooling from Corbin's to make the bullets. I had contacted Corbin's and had a price to get the equipment and dies when the attempt to get Sierra to make mk7 equivalent...
Did #4 Mk2's have the front sight locking screw? Mine does not seem to have one. To replace the front sight do I just drive out the old sight and drive a new one in?
Thanks,
Rick

Brian,
Thanks for the link. I went to Lowes and picked up a #2 phillips head x 16" long screwdriver. I cut off the tip, heated the tip with a torch and shapped it similar to the...
Any tips on removing the leather wad in front of the butt stock bolt? I tried using a coat hanger and a brass rod formed with a hook to remove the wad but they are too flexible to pull the leather...
Sell it on to someone to will repair it.

There was a shortage of all types of ammunition not just small arms. The scandal wound up leading to the fall of the UK government at the time.
Rick
Peter,
Thanks for the information. So it is a case of no longer available lenses to be 100% correct reproduction.
Rick
I am in the dark on MOD contacts but wouldn't the contract specifications exist for the 32? It should detail materials and quality of the lenses.
