Any maker marks on the underside or the reverse of the snaps....to give us a clue.....Belt is very British or Commonwealth looking though i must admit.

Thanks Bill..you guys are great.....but one head scratching query is i was always under the impression that the flat milled trigger guards were early production like in Bills picture and the trigger...
Guys can you help put this one to bed for me.....i own Garand serial number 333657* which by the tables makes it late 1944 production....correct ?
My question is which trigger guard would this...

I reckon you are right Emmagee....thats almost certainly a recoil boot and an M7 launcher....but did they have M7 launchers at Tarawa ?

No Artu the butt cup and mag pouch have been removed and replaced with standard pockets.......just overstamped by AVERY and dated 1942.....i assume AVERY carried out the modifications to the WW1 BAR...
Oh yeah Harlan that picture is enough to give "serious must have everything tan web" re enactors the fits.......:rofl:

Aru i have a modified Plant Bros WW1 belt .....modified by AVERY and dated 1942 on the web joining belt...with the butt cup and 45 mag pouch...
Wow dont you just love pictures.....great pic look at the non standard "isms" in that picture.....the S/Sgt has a tanker jacket stuffed into his musette bag....the 5 x 20 rd pouch stuffed with 30rd...
