Even if it was an original USGI SA NM at one time, it is not original anymore. More likely it is an SA Inc NM rifle as Phil posted above. As far as its real world value, you probaby overpaid a bit....
Is it an "old" garand or one of the SA inc garands?
It's been awhile but I had no problems with him when I dealt with him.
My Eddystone M1917. It was sporterized but luckily they did'nt mess with the barrel or receiver which where in like new condition. Mostly it had a hacked up stock with no handguards and a modified...
I'm still here but not as often as the past. Mainly a quick browser now. Too many websites and not enough time...............
Interesting. It looks ok to me on the base, spring and pin but that aperture sure looks like a cast replacement, possibly that is why the pin hole is peened on one side, to hold the pin back in after...
Guys I have this posted on several sites for maximum response as time is critical.
Looking for some input as to the marking on a M1917 stock I am considering buying. I've looked at many 1917...
Interesting, seeing as Winchester serial numbers started at 100K
Maybe it was 130K?
I respectfully disagree with half of your statement.:)
I have had several old used milsurp rifles that would not close on the go gauge, and with perfectly clean chambers. Granted,it's not common,but...
Have you tried asking Colt? I thought they had a research/history dept.?
Sounds like it came from an Anniston rebuild. HRA stocks are available should you desire to get one.
This event was open to ANY GCA member that wanted to go. Granted, there were a limited number of spaces available but ANYONE could have sent in there reservation and hoped for the best, same as when...
Slow forums on all sites, its a "summer" thing. Add to that the fact that there are more websites to visit now so folks split up their time between them. There was a time when I only read CSP and...
:nono::crying:
I can change that spring in one minute. Try it,you'll like it.
+1
So many authors,so many answers......
I'll probably get some flak for this but the latest Poyer/Riesch book is probably the best to start out with for a quick referance easy to learn guide, but I...
Cass is correct and his scans also show something that has been the source of more than a few arguments over the years. That argument is that the early collector grades were not mint rifles, they were...
I've seen floorplates bent like that before. I've also seen stocks worn/compressed on the bottom at an angle to give the same appearance as a bent floorplate.
Be aware that there are many dealers...
This is what its for.

I love my carbines and AR's but they stay in the safe. A loaded 12 ga and .45 are my boogeyman go to's. :)
Interesting that it is made up of two pieces bolted together. I would'nt think that is as accurate as a solid machined part yet would cost more to build??
Does'nt Roland use Obermeyer barrels?
Not meaning to hijack John's thread but have any of you ever seen any SA M14 demilled receivers? I've been looking for a rear section SA M14 for a long time, seems like no one has them. If anybody has...
