Based on what it says, I'd guess it's a complete cleaning kit with bore and chamber brush, rod (multiple sections), grease, and case plus a sling.
It's an Intermediate Eye Relief scope and I have moved it a few notches toward the receiver. Still haven't made it to the range, but it appears to focus very well based on home tests.
Dan,
Got it!! Thanks!! :super:
Looks great!! Congrats on the great stock work. Looks beautiful!! Great to hear that it's about to enter the third generation in your family. Hope that continues.
Great article!! Thanks!!
Anyone know of a way to download it?
Got the cheek pad I referenced above and put it on the stock.

It looks/feels like it'll work very well, but haven't gotten to...

I'm speechless!! :)

Nice looking stock. Is it a repro? If so, which one did you get?
I know what you mean. I'm retired so I have to save my pennies before I make the next swing past the South Store and North Store!!
Looking forward to the M1D pics!!
As for the Garanditis/Carbineitis, there is no cure, but buying more rifles seems to help (at least that's the excuse I use!!). :)
If you get bored at the Huntsville show on Saturday, you can always run down to Anniston!! :)
You have a point there!! :)
My personal preference is to leave them there. They serve as examples that the rifle has "been there, done that"!!
Wish I lived in the country and could shoot from my carport!! :(
I read every one of Ernie Pyle's bookd when in high school and couldn't put them down once I started one. Looks like it's time to read them again.
Thanks for sharing and thank your father for his...
Great maps and info. Thanks for sharing!!
Try switching the hammers between the two assemblies and see if the problem follows the hammer or stays with the assembly.
WOW, that one beautiful rifle and to get a bayonet & scabbard to boot!! Don't be afraid to shoot her, but make sure you clean the barrel first. Congrats & enjoy!!
Based on the comments above, you've made a wise decision.
hermiem,
I've personally gotten a lot of great information from this thread from all of the posters, but did you ever get your problem solved?
