It's also known as the "Type 1" Hi Power holster. The "Type 2" had a double flap opening, not just the top flap as seen on this example.
Or just start moving the decimal to the right a few notches...
It's a BSA "dispersal factory" rifle. Tons of info on the interwebs that'll bring you up to speed on this variant.
From Wiki:
"The BSA factory at Small Heath was bombed by the Luftwaffe on 26...
I think the fact that Skennerton's numbers are not precise is a given, but I only posted the figures to point out that the Fazakerley numbers are more then double those from BSA Maltby.
According to Uncle Ian, Faz built 169,807 of the No.5 MkI and BSA only manufactured 81,329.
Couldn't manage a "T", but how about a Merry Christmas No.5?
Happy Christmas to all...

That's my reason for being somewhat puzzled. The pistol was never "imported" from the UK in the regular sense. The "S&W" was applied in England, the reason escapes me...
I am uncertain. The No.2 came straight out of the display case in Bath and had just recently been acquired from a local estate (according to the shop owner), so the "S&W"
was most certainly applied...
Too late... ;-}
I too was lucky enough to find a largely unused No.2

Up to 46 watchers now, with this little tidbit attached to the listing:
"WW2 LEE ENFIELD ? ATTACHMENT
I THINK IT IS NO.4 MK2
MEASURES 27.5cm LONG

I recently sold a WW2 M3 (Enger-Kress undated) in similar condition on eBay for $55.00.
A number of my Enfields were (are) featured on Jay's site. Glad to see it's been resurrected.
For my money, if it has a matching bolt and has not been otherwise messed with, and if it grabs me and is priced withing reason I buy it. May that's too simple... YMMV
I too am uncertain of the value as it is the only one I've seen. i would have no issue paying $300+ for it. Unless of course it is proven to be the very rare Medical Sniper Rifle Case MkI. If that is...
:clap::clap::clap:
There is a BSA made 800 yard sight up on eBay right now...
Amen to that. Brass I have, but finding powder or large rifle primers on the shelf here in Arizona is well nigh impossible.
Yep... hooks right on, no adapter needed:

One hint from the OP's description. Very neat electropencil says Fazackerly, not so neat (hand done) is BSA...
I have a 4C Savage that features a 6 groove barrel...
FYI, Allan's Armory has a bunch of 12mm Swedish rolling blocks for a bunch less than $800...
