back in the day, I carried one of those , chambered in 9mm. nice little SMG
when I started reloading .303 I had one of the Lee dies, where you bash it in & out. The casings would never fit in the rifle, real tight fit, and maybe you could force them with the bolt. bought a...
thanks Ray, some good information in that thread, I think I know which way to go now. This is for a MAS36/51, and I'm planning on banging off a practice grenade. be interesting to see how far it...
thanks guys, upon further research etc., what I'm looking for is not so much blanks, but grenade launching blanks. any info on that?
Out of curiousity, I pulled apart a IVI 7.62 round and a IVI 7.62...
does anyone have any data on reloading blanks? for example a standard 7.62 NATO has X grains, but the blank has 60%/X, or 75%/X. anyone have any idea of the ratios?
I just picked up a MAS 36/51. Impulse shopping! Anyone have any info on reloading this calibre?
Peter, on closer examination, what I thought was a C was a 0. number is MF (hand stamped it looks like) and below 40908
re: butt slides, my 1943 mkII Inglis has the shorter butt slide, but with what is identified as the simplified mkI machining around the trigger group. the receiver has T in the serial#, butt slide...
I was surprised as well at how little was done. Less than on my FN-FAL back in the 90's.
I have obtained a semi-auto bren. I believe that all that was done was to replace the selector & weld in place. moving the selector to safe or auto has the same result-nothing happens.
looks like the rhodesian FN/G3 chest webbing. Don't like the look of those straps, that would hurt by the end of the day.
I am looking at reloading .303 with hardpoint, but all I have found in hardpoint are boat-tailed bullets. I have read about issues i.e. barrel wear when boat tailed (MKVIII) vs flat based (MKVII)...
I've put about 400 rounds through my FN 49 without a hiccup. If I could buy another crate I would.
Thanks Peter, the edge of the projection is rough, and it looked like something had snapped off
here are a couple of pics. what is the appropriate bipod? You can see that this one is missing the eye for the sling. Not sure how to tell the state of the gas regulator. There is some wear....

agreed-full auto is more fun. But I cannot own a full auto in Canada. I can however, own a semi-auto bren, & it would be a nice companion for my semi-auto MG34.
Just got back from the easter gun show in Calgary. Saw this at a table. labelled as a bren gun oiler. "buffer oil" scratched into leather. Manufacturer tag -(someone in Montreal-just glanced at it)...
Guys,
Thinking about getting a semi-auto bren. anything to look out for/avoid?
thanks

I will see what I can do about scanning it. My scanner is slow & this manual has about 90 pages. It is a 1967 reprint of the 1948 manual. Real deal, not a copy. Some insects got at the last couple of...
On my recent trip to Zimbabwe, I found a box of stuff I had left with a friend in 1980, when I left (then Rhodesia). In the box, was a Canadian Bren manual, that I had taken there. A little tattered...
a little off topic, but another picture from the Zimbabwe trip, again the museum in Gweru. Top is the cz24 SMG, bottom is the belgian Vigneron SMG. A co-worker, back in the day, had one of these....
On a recent trip to Zimbabwe, saw this in a museum. lots of mis-labelled stuff there. This shows a British South Africa Company soldier, late 1890's/early 1900's. Unfortunately he is armed with a...
I think that the backdrop print was flipped when they printed it. the MAG belt feed should be on the left. If that is so,what you see is the gunners left hand supporting the butt, right hand...
